1.
Hello all!
I am the proud new owner of a Hasselblad 500 cm that was bequeathed to me by the family of a late nyc fashion photographer from the 70s. Way cool! Anyhow, i've been tinkering with the camera since yesterday and trying to get it in working condition. I've read dozens of forums & dozens of answers. Unfortunately, all of the answers are the same and the current offered suggestions aren't solving the issue.
**Note: I am a beginner with film cameras, so go easy on my terminology & knowledge! ;) **

First issue:
The lens would not detach from the camera, the shutter button would not click, and I couldn't crank the film advance wheel. So after reading, I turned the small silver faux screw inside of the camera 360 degrees and voila! The lens finally came off.
Second issue:
The lens would not mount back onto the camera once i removed it. It would not "click" into place. After reading more information, I learned that both the lens and the camera needed to be cocked (the slats of the mechanisms lining up with the red dots, etc). Both slats were already in cocked position & still not mounting. The mirror is still flipped up. Is there a way to bring that mirror down?

SUMMARY:

Lens and camera are both in cocked position

Inside silver screw has been turned 360 degrees

Shutter button still won't click

Film advancement still won't crank

Mirror still flipped up

Thank you so much in advance for ANY help anyone may have!!! I'm planning to have it tuned up in the next couple of weeks, but I really can't afford to get a large service bill in the mail if I can fix the problem myself with the help of you wonderful photographers. Thanks again!
