Mind you, my 14mm Samyang only covers 115 degrees and it stretches the edges more than enough. I imagine the edges of a 180 degree rectilinear would be very weird indeed!</p>

I have had some success using my 5D with the FSU 1000mm mirror lens, which is a f11 design but I doubt I could have achieved sharp focus with the standard screen.</p> <p>JDM is also correct when he talks about tripods, etc. You might also want to shoot bursts rather than singles, to give yourself the best chance of getting a usable image.</p>

Any customer that came across such a post might, rightly, be concerned about the questioner's ability to serve wholesome food.</p>

  13. <p>For anything like that, the best investment you can make is to acquire some large sheets of white card (say, three feet by two) for use as reflectors.</p> <p>The enemy of success in these jobs is too much contrast. Learn to spot the areas which are too dark and position your cards to throw light into those areas, reducing the contrast. That way, you'll be able to expose for the highlights and, with any luck, avoid whited out windows and portholes.</p> <p>You can cover one side of each card with aluminium foil, shiny side out, to give more reflectivity for the darkest areas. If you want to be really classy, you can use foam core mounting sheets instead of card (I do) and the whole thing will still cost less than $10 per sheet.</p> <p>A tripod and a remote control (so you can hold one or two of the cards yourself) will get you a long way in that sort of work.</p>
