  1. <p>here's some more from my trip to Antwerp :<br />.<br> <img src="http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss151/dorus/0720w_zpsc11806f8.jpg" alt="" width="960" height="636" /><br> they built a bridge across the Styx<br> .<br /> <img src="http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss151/dorus/1616w_zpsbfc50c48.jpg" alt="" width="960" height="636" /><br /> forgot to check who this man was<br /> .<br /> <img src="http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss151/dorus/5021w_zps2b56c7fa.jpg" alt="" width="960" height="637" /><br /> here he comes....<br /> .</p>
  2. <p>the b&w is wonderful indeed. The coloured version demonstrates imo. the difficulty with natural landscapes ie. the grass begets a surrealistic tint. The pseudo hdr effects work better on streets, buildings, industrials etc. </p>
  3. <p><strong>I was in Antwerp last saturday, a very nice town :</strong><br> <img src="http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss151/dorus/2018w_zps9f1d2a9a.jpg" alt="" width="637" height="960" /><br> .<br> <strong>reversed roles : spider gets eaten by its victim :</strong><br> <img src="http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss151/dorus/4017w_zps7d81e594.jpg" alt="" width="960" height="634" /><br> .<br> <strong>dance-battle in my favourite post-processing style :</strong><br> <img src="http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss151/dorus/2016w_zps250d2dbd.jpg" alt="" width="677" height="960" /><br> .</p>
  4. <p>I use Photomatix pro (without the 'r') as stand-alone. It offers many modes for adjusting. Single photo's need to be shot in raw, but multiple bracketed pics also in jpg.</p>
  5. <p>@Duane:<br /> * I used photomatix with personal settings for post-processing on 2, 3 and 4, shot wit 8mm. The first is a mix of original with a cartoon-esque filter.<br />* I'm baffled at the thought of being able to go iceberg-spotting ! Makes beautiful like magical pics, too.<br />* And yes I am also very happy with my 21 and 40 mm :)</p>
  6. <p>my son of 15 really likes fast cars, so we went to such an exhibition. <br /> One thing for sure : I have a very different view on the matter :)<br /> .<br /> <img src="http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss151/dorus/4022w_zps76ca6439.jpg" alt="" width="960" height="646" /><br /> .<br /> <img src="http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss151/dorus/1812w_zps3afd211f.jpg" alt="" width="960" height="624" /><br /> .<br /> <img src="http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss151/dorus/1420w_zpsbdd5577d.jpg" alt="" width="960" height="842" /><br /> .<br /> <img src="http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss151/dorus/2410w_zps0ac732be.jpg" alt="" width="960" height="637" /><br /> .</p>
  7. <p>I have no experience with that lens (unfortunately).<br> But I do wonder how such could be the same price as a good computer or camera, which are high tech and high end instruments.</p>
  8. <p>somehow I'm glad to hear of your misfortune. Cause I'm always thinking I wil make better pictures if I pay top-price for a top-lens. Greed and/or poverty has kept me, but god knows I'been close to the edge. Your mishap has now convinced me to not buy this lens. Thanks for saving me :)<br />Instead I'm now thinking of a manual 50mm 1.7 for portraits, very good glass and cheap too.<br />And concentrate even more on my creativity, rather than my wallet.</p>
  9. <p>I agree with the above, and hope to contribute.<br />here's e selection of recent birds :<br />.<br> <img src="http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss151/dorus/3514w_zps0966361c.jpg" alt="" width="960" height="635" /><br> I'm happy with this picture of a very shy bird, locally called : bakba tietelie<br> .<br> <img src="http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss151/dorus/3910w_zpsf8a7103a.jpg" alt="" width="960" height="636" /><br> also far from perfect, but the result of much patience...<br> .<br> <img src="http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss151/dorus/5215w_zpse7cea8aa.jpg" alt="" width="960" height="608" /><br> on a befitting branch : style<br> .<br> <img src="http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss151/dorus/5218w_zpsabf10b28.jpg" alt="" width="960" height="615" /><br> the common seagulls remain my favourite, however<br> .</p>
  10. <p>nice story, indeed, Henk Coetzee.<br> Eventhough its awfully quiet in this corner of the forum, I'll carry on with some holiday pics :<br> <img src="http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss151/dorus/4620w_zpsb41feed7.jpg" alt="" width="960" height="608" /><br> .<br> <img src="http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss151/dorus/1311w_zpsc592a0fb.jpg" alt="" width="960" height="550" /><br> .<br> <img src="http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss151/dorus/0217w_zpsfbbfb9a1.jpg" alt="" width="960" height="636" /><br> .</p>
  11. <p>I was on my holidays in Surinam, came back with loads of pictures<br> I'll present a selection each week, hope you like them.<br> starting of with some portraits of my inlaws<br />.<br> <img src="http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss151/dorus/029w_zps9d220e78.jpg" alt="" width="960" height="636" /><br> .<br> <img src="http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss151/dorus/2011w_zps0330dfe7.jpg" alt="" width="960" height="636" /><br> .<br> <img src="http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss151/dorus/3311w_zps12b8043b.jpg" alt="" width="776" height="960" /><br> .<br> <img src="http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss151/dorus/5821w_zps161e64e5.jpg" alt="" width="960" height="636" /><br> .<br> <img src="http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss151/dorus/5312w_zps5cbc08b1.jpg" alt="" width="960" height="636" /><br> .<br> <img src="http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss151/dorus/3011w_zpsb51ce132.jpg" alt="" width="960" height="636" /><br> .<br> <img src="http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss151/dorus/0fd104a3-4998-4af7-950d-26734c64e5b9_zps40fe4435.jpg" alt="" width="960" height="854" /><br> .</p>
