1. Hi, Earlier today I had the lens cap on my Mamiya 7ii and accidentally knocked it with the head of my tripod. I had a look to see if there was any damage and now I am a bit worried and confused. The glass of the lens is fine, but further inside the lens where I think the shutter is there are some squiggly lines which seem to overlap each other. I'm not sure if they were there before or are meant to be there? Is there anyway to upload an iPhone photo of the lens onto the thread tto help show what I am trying to describe? Cheers, George
 2.
Hi all,

I have a Mamiya 7ii and I have recently bought a tripod. If I do not want the subject to be in the center of the square in the viewfinder what technique should I use to ensure the subject is sharply focused?
Most of the time I will be stopped down to f11 - f16 so should I not be concerned about the focus of my subject with the large depth of field if I focus and recompose in the same plane?

Cheers

 3.
Randy, I'm pretty set on using medium format for this trip. I was originally planing to visit Ladakh before Rajasthan although with the above suggestions it does not seem common sense to be photographing in the heat.

 4.
No stock images, purely for travel and photography enjoyment.
I was planning to visit Rajasthan however will now rethink.

 5.
Hi all,
As the title suggests I am travelling India this summer for 1 month and although it is not the best time to go due to the heat and monsoon, it is the only time I have available.

I am concerned that the high temperature may affect my Mamiya 7ii and film. Additionally, knowing I am likely to encounter some heavy rain is also a concern, are there protective equipment to deal with this?

What tips do you have for travelling extremely hot countries with film?
Cheers

 6.
Hi all,

Having just picked up the Mamiya 7 II, I am shooting a few test rolls. I've noticed a red light appear in the bottom left of the viewfinder just as I am releasing the shutter. Is that normal? The red light does not show up at any other time.

Cheers

 7.
Hi
Part of the mirror foam cushion on my Canon A1 has deteriorated and when I look through the viewfinder with the sun behind me I can see what looks like specks of light. Before the foam detonated I never noticed this and don't believe it happened. Is it possible the mirror foam cushion can cause the light leak and are the marks through the viewfinder signs of light?

George

 8.
You are right, John, 1.5 cm is the size of the gap and that is in fact not very small! I have a roll loaded into the camera at the moment will that effect the process of replacing it and the door seals?

 9.
Hi,

Earlier I was changing lens and noticed the middle part of the foam mirror cushion had crumbled and now there is a small gap (around 1.5 cm) along the strip. Is this problem going cause a light leak?

Thanks
George

 10.
Hi,

Earlier I was changing lenses and noticed a part of the foam mirror cushion was attached to the lens and now there is a small gap (around 1cm) along the strip. Is this problem going to leak in light?

Thanks
George

 11.
The A1's manual has slightly confused me about overexposure when shooting in shutter priority. I understand any aperture between f/19 and f/32 will always flash and overexposure depends on the lens minimum aperture. The manual says if the minimum aperture of the lens is equal to or smaller than the flashing aperture, exposure will be correct. So my question is, is smaller defined as a smaller aperture or smaller numerically? Both my current lens' have a minimum aperture of f/22 thus if the flashing aperture is, for example f/16 am I correct to think exposure will be correct? Conversely if the flashing aperture is f/32 my shot will be overexposed?

Thanks
