Hey Davecz, thanks. I found battery equivalents for my 35EC and the battery check and function work. The instruction manual says 'not' to operate the camera without proper battery/voltage. Because the camera is fully automatic I won't be able to tell if it's 'really' working till I finish and develop this roll of film. Thanks again....!

First time developing film (B&W)
garybowen replied to justin_ng1's topic in The Wet Darkroom: Film, Paper & Chemistry
I haven't developed b+w in ages. So this is greatly appreciated. Q. I'm using TMax developer for my HP5 and TriX. I heard in this discussion that some developers can be saved but not HC110. Is TMax developer savable or does it need to be tossed once developing the roll(s)/tank is finished? I've been tossing my TMax after the 6 minutes is up. If it can be saved, what is safe or for how many rolls of 36 exposures of 35mm film? I usually develop two rolls at a time. I keep my working solution chemistry in those brown Data storage bottles. Thanks for all this great intro info... -

These 675 zinc hearing aid batteries are only 1.38V according to my multimeter... maybe that's why the batt test isn't worknig? I found these and ordered websites says it replaces the PX640 and are 1.5V. Let's hope after all this..... (3 x Lr52 exell alkaline battery 1.5v, 335 mah (A640PX) =) -
Thanks, Jim! I picked it up sight-unseen, so I'm expecting this sweetie to be defective it having a ding where it is, and that the GN ring is jammed. Cheers! Gary

Hi, I just picked up this Olympus 35 EC and I put in 675 zinc hearing aide batteries as a poster suggested. How do I know if the camera is actually working? It's all automatic. Is it that yellow window on the left hand of side of the deck that should light up? There is a ding on the left hand corner of the deck. The guide #ring won't move, as well. I hear the shutter trip, but don't see the diaphram open when pointing at a light source. Thanks for any help. (I just joined) Gary

How do I know if my Olympus 35EC is working? is that orange window on the deck on the left hand side supposed to light up? I bought, as someone suggested using a hearing aide battery 675. I hear a tripping sound when I advance (w/o film loaded.) and depress shutter, but if I open the back and point the lens towards a light source the diaphram doesn't open... Can someone help? thanks. (I just signed up.) -
