  3. <p>I take it you don't know or you would have answered my questions. I have done a search on the web and on this site before I asked these particular questions. I emailed Yongnuo and asked specifically about the Canon 6D and the differences between the two 565's but two weeks later I have no answer. I always do a search before I ask a question.</p>
  4. <p>Ahh.... Now I see. Thanks. Too many danged settings on these modern cameras. LOL</p>
  5. <p>I recently purchased a YN560iii for my Canon 6D. I don't shoot enough flash photography to be comfortable using a manual flash so would like to upgrade to an ETTL system operated from my hot shoe. The ones I am looking at from the Yongnuo store on ebay are. The YN565EX. the 565EXii, both $105 and the YN568EXii $168.50. My questions are....<br> In the camera compatibility list the 6D is never mentioned. Will they work ?<br />Between the 565EX and the 565EXii which one would I want ?<br> What advantages do I gain with the YN568EXii over the other two ?<br> Should I someday want to use the flash in conjunction with my 560iii what is the best choice ?<br> Thanks Garth</p>
  6. <p>Okay. I followed the instructions on P-179-81 which was what the camera was already set as. Pressing the start/stop button did get me the LCD view but the optical view was disabled. When pressing the shutter button with the LCD on there is a click like the shutter is opening but not closing or the mirror is locking up, but no picture is taken. Only after exiting the LCD view will it actually take a picture.<br> Will the clear camera function return the camera to its default settings ? </p>
  7. <p>Sorry guys, this is a really stupid question but I just can't find the answer in the manual. How do I turn on the LCD screen to act as a view finder ? I like to have the option of using either the optical or digital when I turn on the camera. Right now the LCD screen is black and using the info button does not get me my viewing screen.<br> Thanks</p>
  8. <p>Just had a look at Windows 8.1 compatibility site and they do list Silverfast as compatible. I will update when I get around to installing the Adaptec scsi card......<br> http://windows.microsoft.com/en-ca/windows-8/older-programs-compatible-version-windows</p>
  9. <p>Just had a look through my cd pile. I also have a copy of Silverfast SE I could pass on. Far superior to the original Minolta software in my opinion. Be advised that as far as I know, neither will run on anything more modern than an XP machine. Though someone may have a way of doing it ? Modern versions of Vuescan are the only way on a modern machine to my knowledge.</p>
  10. <p>I've got one. Where are you ? What's the best way to get it to you. I could burn it to CD and mail it to you. Or maybe there is someway to email it as an attachment ? If so someone will have to tell me how. I've been running mine on an old XP laptop but a scsi board just arrived that I bought on ebay so I will be attempting to get it working on my Windows 8.1 machine. Not sure how that is going to work out....<br> I have had way better results using Silverfast but haven't tried Vuescan though I have it installed in my Windows 8.1 machine...</p>
  11. <p>Sorry Les. I took a second look and you are correct, but it is the one recommended by another user on another forum for Windows 7. I'm using Windows 8x64 so I guess I'll find out when I try it.<br> William, the back of the computer appears to have tabs to remove for additional hardware. Of course what's behind them remains to be seen .</p>
  12. <p>Evidently there is Les. It was referenced in another thread on Windows 7. Here is the ad that I responded to.</p> <p><a title="Serial Adapters" href="http://shopping.com/serial-adapters/products"><img src="http://www999.shopping.com/pixel/noscript?PV_EvnTyp=APPV&APPV_APITSP=09%2F24%2F14_01%3A16%3A29_PM&APPV_DSPRQSID=p34.ec93b808e4d0f930cf01&APPV_IMGURL=&APPV_LI_LNKINID=8060551&APPV_LI_SBMKYW=Adaptec+SCSI+Controller+ASC-1960+&APPV_MTCTYP=1000&APPV_PRTID=144887&APPV_BrnID=14623" alt="" width="1" height="1" /></a></p> <h3 >Picture Information</h3> <table > <tbody> <tr> <td > <img id="icImg" src="http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/MTIwMFgxNjAw/$%28KGrHqJ,%21pYE+LtjJwVdBP+%29U%211G-w%7E%7E60_35.JPG" alt="Adaptec-SCSI-Controller-ASC-1960" /> </td> </tr> </tbody> </table> Mouse over image to zoom <center> <table> <tbody> <tr> <td width=""> <strong>Have one to sell?</strong> <a id="inst_sale_btn" title="" href="http://cgi5.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?SellLikeItem&item=261065687501&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2567" rel="nofollow"> Sell now</a> </td> </tr> </tbody> </table> </center> <a tabindex="-1" name="mainContent"></a> <h1 id="itemTitle" >Details about Adaptec SCSI Controller ASC-1960</h1> <table align="right"> <tbody> <tr> <td> <a id="scShare_emailId1" title="Email to friends" data-destination="email"> </a><a title="Share on Facebook - opens in a new window or tab" href="http://www.ebay.com/soc/share?swd=2&du=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fitm%2F-%2F261065687501&rt=nc&t=Adaptec%20SCSI%20Controller%20ASC-1960&spid=2047675&media=http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/MTIwMFgxNjAw/$%28KGrHqJ,%21pYE+LtjJwVdBP+%29U%211G-w%7E%7E60_35.JPG&shorten=0&itm=261065687501" target="_blank" data-destination="facebook"> </a><a title="Share on Twitter - opens in a new window or tab" href="http://www.ebay.com/soc/share?swd=3&du=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fitm%2F-%2F261065687501&rt=nc&t=Incredible%20%23tablet%20deal%20on%20%40eBay%21%20Adaptec%20SCSI%20Controller%20ASC-1960%20&spid=2047675&lang=en&media=http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/MTIwMFgxNjAw/$%28KGrHqJ,%21pYE+LtjJwVdBP+%29U%211G-w%7E%7E60_35.JPG&itm=261065687501" target="_blank" data-destination="twitter"> </a><a title="Share on Pinterest - opens in a new window or tab" href="http://www.ebay.com/soc/share?swd=11&du=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fitm%2F-%2F261065687501&rt=nc&t=Adaptec%20SCSI%20Controller%20ASC-1960&spid=2047675&media=http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/MTIwMFgxNjAw/$%28KGrHqJ,%21pYE+LtjJwVdBP+%29U%211G-w%7E%7E60_35.JPG&itm=261065687501" target="_blank" data-destination="pinterest"> </a> </td> <td> </td> </tr> </tbody> </table> <h2 >Seller information</h2> <a title="Member ID: robbylo68" href="http://www.ebay.com/usr/robbylo68?_trksid=p2047675.l2559"> robbylo68</a> (<a title="feedback score: 5783" href="http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback&userid=robbylo68&iid=261065687501&ssPageName=VIP:feedback&ftab=FeedbackAsSeller&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2560">5783</a> ) 99.9% Positive feedback <a href="http://www.ebay.com/itm/261065687501?_trksid=p2060778.m1438.l2648&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT"> Follow this seller </a> <a id="vi-see-allitms" href="http://www.ebay.com/sch/robbylo68/m.html?item=261065687501&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562">See other items</a> Visit store: <a title="Arrow Technology Solutions" href="http://stores.ebay.com/Arrow-Technology-Solutions?_trksid=p2047675.l2563"><img src="http://p.ebaystatic.com/aw/pics/s.gif" alt="" width="1" height="1" /> Arrow Technology S...</a> <h2 >Item Information</h2> Item condition: Used Sold for: US $10.00 Shipping: Will ship to Canada. 13. <p>I have been running my scan multi through an old laptop with XP and a scsi card adapter. The computer is on its last legs and I really would like to run it through my modern Windows 8 Computer. As per recommendations on other threads for Windows 7, I have ordered an Adaptec ASC 1960 card from ebay { 10 bucks so no great loss if I can't get it to work } Does anybody have step by step instructions to make this combination work ? I am not that computer literate { at installing drivers etc. } but I can follow directions LOL.<br> Thanks Garth</p>
