1. I have an Ernemann Ermanox Reflex camera with Ernostar lens, much like this one Ernostar - Camera-wiki.org - The free camera encyclopedia. The Ermanox Reflex was the final model of Ermanox and was discontinued in 1929. What I like to ask the camera/photography community is, "Does the camera support glass plate photography or, more specifically, can the Ermanox's film plate adapters accept dry glass slides in place of the "normal" single cut sheet film?" Any worthwhile, considered responses specific to the question - please no off-beat responses - would be warmly received. Frank
2. I have a Zeiss Contax 1© camera (see first attached picture), and recently someone pointed out to me that the back louvered curtain (see second and third attached pictures) doesn't fully close when one advances the film, which exposes the film to light. I've been told that what should normally happen in relation to this curtain is when one advances the film the curtain should close completely. I was later told, when the camera was being examined, that some small part which controls or positions the curtain may be broken and this is causing the curtain mechanism to jam. I hope I have expressed this correctly - am conveying someone else's thoughts here. At any rate, could someone perhaps provide some insight to what might be going on here? and what might need to be done to remedy this issue? Frank
3. Recently my Leica iiif screw mount camera with chrome Elmar 5-cm f/2.8 lens was film tested and the processed pictures came out grainy and a bit blurred. See attached file. What would the chief contributing reasons for this be? and how could this be rectified? Frank
4.
I have a number of vintage (1920-1950) shutter type film cameras, such as Zeiss Ikon, Exakta etc. Is there is any specific product or simple technique that could possibly be utilised to refreshen or rejuvenate the existing (mainly black) paint on such cameras? I would wholeheartedly welcome any useful responses, save a repaint or doing nothing. Frank
