I recently purchased an EOS 80D and have bought a Polaroid HD Multi-Coated Variable Range Neutral Density filter. If I set it at 16 stops, is this filter suitable to protect the camera? I will only use the LCD viewer. The more I read about this the more nervous I get about damaging the camera. Thanks for any input.

Hi. I'm returning to photography after 10 years. Going digital after using a Pentax SLR. I have pretty much decided on a D3400 body. And am looking for one or two lenses to start with. They do not have to be Nikon in fact I'm looking for to stay under $750 for the lenses so probably won't be. I like doing nature and landscapes and macro is a must. Also want to do candid shots. I like the idea of a prime 50 or 60mm for that natural perspective. And also want a zoom. And macro capability on one of those but not sure which is best. I have a little knowledge but not enough to make these decision. Any recommendations on a couple lenses to fit that bill? Thank you.
