Thank you, everyone, for all the feedback. I have to admit that I did zero cleaning on the camera prior to taking those photos. Some work with a damp paper towel revealed that most of what you see is dirt, excluding the lens. As far as I can tell, there is little corrosion on the exterior... then again, I don't yet have an eye for that sort of thing. I failed to notice the dent before posting here, and I would not have thought it significant (which, again, is why I sought an experienced perspective). I understand that any wear like that reduces value. Also, I had to check that knob- the photo does make it look like its at an angle, but it's not.

I removed the lens to take a better look at it. I have to agree that it does not seem salvageable. There appear to be multiple scratches in addition to the mold (or fungus)... although, maybe those "scratches" are a progression of whatever microbe now resides upon the lens? I could post pictures of that particular view, but from what has already been said in regard to the lens I doubt I will hear anything more positive about its condition!

Regardless, I'm going to hold off on worrying about making this camera usable. A decent replacement lens seems to start at nearly $200 on Ebay. Not exactly cheap for me, especially since this is not my hobby. Who knows, maybe one day? ... Still, I really do appreciate the information. It's always great to learn something new.
