1. Hey all,
I just purchased this setup recently and can't get everything fully functional. This is my first time using an off camera setup.

I used a: Canon 6d Canon 70-200 f4 IS
Canon Speedlite 580exII
Neewer 985
2x Yungnuo YN-E3-RX
and a Yungnuo YN-E3-RT

I have tried doing every which way and figured I'd ask the more seasoned vets if they had any tricks to get it working or if I have defective equipment.

So the speedlites work perfectly on the camera hot shoe. ETTL and Manual work just fine. 1/1 setting on manual on both cameras fire out full power shots. When I use the YN-E3-RT on the camera hot shoe and place the speedlites on the receivers though... Here are the issues..

1. ETTL doesn't seem to work AT ALL. the flashes both fire but it seems like their power output is greatly decreased. All I get are very very underexposed images that are pretty much black. I know aperture controls flash lighting and shutter speed controls ambient lighting but I figure at an fstop of 4.0 and a shutter speed of 1/60 that the flash would try and atleast compensate for the lack of light and it would shoot something near full power. Is this user error? Possibly defective receivers? I've tried both Evaluative and Average modes for the ETTL evaluation.

2. When trying to use any other mode besides ETTL for the 580exII, it doesn't fire at all. The receiver has the input I have from the transmitter and it changes when I change the settings but the flash doesn't fire!

Has anyone run into these issues? Have any fixes? I was supposed to shoot my cousin's newborn tomorrow with this setup and some diffusers but it doesn't seem like that's going to happen since I can't get it to work.

Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!!
