1. Thankyou for advice guys, appreciate it :)
 2.
I am looking for any opinions on the best 50mm lens to pick up, that is also known for being very sharp.
I have just got rid of my sigma art 35mm 1.4 after 3 different calibrations including from sigma, and with such mixed reviews on other sigmas, this has kind of turned me off the brand. Is there anything out there currently that rivals the good art lenses but also reliable? My focus is fashion environmental but also portrait so am now looking at a 50mm. up to $500
I own a 5d mark iii
Thanks

 3.
I am quite new to photography and have only just realised that the centre focusing point makes quite a difference when aquiring sharper pictures, which in my circumstance is full body of people, and specifically being sharp on the eyes. Initially i have been shooting in portrait mode, taking the focus point up to the top of the camera so it focuses on the eyes and so i can get the rest of the body in shot to. Not something i could do with the centre point as it wouldn't get the body in shot (more so head and shoulders).
With focus recompose supposedly the aperture is better at 2.8 and up (i have a 1.4 lense) but how low is to low to have a higher chance of keeping my subject in focus when recomposing? Also if i do have the centre point on the eyes, hold down back button focus so the focus is kept for sharp eyes, and then recompose so i can get the whole body in, should this work ok, or am i doing it wrong? Would appreciate any advice

 4.
I am quite new to instagram through are trying to find out how i can upload vertical shots that don't create white space on either side which the toggle thing does. The measurements are a 4 x5 for this i think. Everything I'm doing keeps me in square apart from that. This is an example of what i mean with having the whole vertical shot in there without empty space created on either side. www.instagram.comnickwaltersphotography
Thanks

 5.
Very interesting, it seems like if i want to be working in rule of thirds with enviromental fashion or other forms of composition, that this may not actually be the camera for me.

 6.
If using single point focus through in afs, and moving over eyes even to right or left of frame is that an issue, or even recomposing?

 7.
oh that's encouraging great to know. i am in the process of getting one.. i think though this is important

 8.
I am in the process of switching over cameras, and are looking for any reviews on focus accuracy (how many shots come out well versus not, and a good photographer taking) between the mark 5 d 2 and mark 3. i know the mark 3 has more cross types, though does this make a significant distance? My other question is would there be any other canon that is not top of the line such as a 6d or other that you would consider for this aspect?
My focus is fashion, potraits, occasional movement and a shoot with a sigma art 35mm 1.4
Thanks

 9.
I am looking to get opinions on the d750 and auto focusing, related to how fast but more so how accurate. I was looking at a canon 5d mark III which has more cross points, though is the nikon reliable when it comes to this, as how many shots come out well focused makes a big difference. My key focus is fashion and potraits, with occasional movement.
Thanks

 10.
So it seems their is mixed reviews on the focusing of some of these lenses to produce higher quality pictures, versus soft, though the sigmas are rated higher and more consistent with than the nikons. I use the 35mm for full body in which i shoot fashion and the 50mm for portraits. The 85mm takes me to far away from my subject.

 11.
I am looking to get an opinion on the sharpest 50mm prime, which would be for the d750?
Also from anyone who has one, have you found that af fine tune was a neccessity when you ended up getting it? If you believe the 35mm to be sharper, id love any opinions as well
Thanks

 12.
Hi
I am just dropping by to see if anyone here shoots self portraits with face detection, and the settings that they do so to get well focused shots, especially eyes? I use a d750 though this could apply to different cameras that have it.

 13.
Thanks Andrew some good advice, i will give it a go in afc focus priority. i think that may disengage face priority but might do better. Elliott i shoot at different f stops low and higher, and are a few feet from the camera. I use a 50mm 1.8

 14.
disable the af. I haven't heard anyone say that, as how is it going to get a good focus on me in face detection without it on. I cant set manual as i am in front of the camera. There are different modes in af

 15.
Hi guys,

I am trying to find the right settings for taking focused shots in face detection as i shoot self portraits. Does anyone do this or have this down well at all? i was shooting in afs mode matrix metering, and tried with live view off for framing then also turning it off to. I use a remote though i dont think that should be a problem. I also had af on. Would love any help

Thanks
