1. Hi guys, Thanks for the input. I spoke to someone at Skearsphoto who said the "D" was an early version of the "DG". Sounds plausible.
 2. Hi, I've decided to get a not very expensive telephoto zoom to use with my D90 and the Sigma 135-400 F4.5-5.6 APO seems to fit the bill. I am trying to decide which version of this lens I want to buy (second-hand). I believe that the "DC" and "DG" versions are for cropped and full frame respectively, but I can't find any info anywhere online about the "D" version, even though there are lots on sale. Could anyone offer any guidance on this? All info' welcome. Thanks.
 3. Hi, Thanks for the guidance and advice. I'll check backscatter and see if Gatwick can help. Regarding size - I plan to take off the baseplate/tray so it's reasonable to fit in hand luggage. Easyjet don't have a weight limit on cabin luggage, you just need to be able to lift it into the overhead bins.
 4. Hi, I want to buy an Ikelite 5509.28 Zoom Gear for my Nikon 18-70, in the UK. New or Used. Thanks Donal Murphy
 5. Hi, I'm flying to Crete from Gatwick Airport, UK, later this month and I'm taking an Ikelite Underwater Housing for my old Nikon D90. Does anyone know if I can take it as hand luggage through security or if I need to put it in checked-in luggage? I'm not sure if security will be happy with the various metal parts. Does anyone have experience doing this from a UK airport? Thanks Donal
 6. HI, I've got a Sigma 28-135mm f/3.8-5.6 Aspherical IF Macro and it causes overexposure by about 2 stops with my Nikon D7000. I've compared exposure with the lens on my Nikon D90 and also with a Nikkor 18-55 G on both bodies. Does anyone know why/how the lens might be leading to exposure and if I can do anything to fix it? Thanks Donal Murphy
 7.
That sounds like a good deal, hope they work out OK. I eventually bought a new/replacement mirror from US ebay user eclecticmusic101 for $30. I don't know if it is new/original/replacement etc. but it looks good and works fine, giving great scans.

 9.
Hi,
I’m looking for guidance on scanned-image noise-reduction software. I'm scanning all of my old negatives from 20-25 years ago using a Nikon Coolscan V with output in TIFF (the NEF isn't compatible with anything). I’ve got Photoshop CS3 but the noise reduction doesn’t seem to be doing very much. I think I need to buy some SW to do the noise work but I’m not sure which route to take. I could buy a plug-in like Topaz or Ideal Image (which I’ve read about here) for my PS CS3 as I don’t have the budget to upgrade to the latest version. Or I could buy Lightroom 6 or 5.7 , – some posts give it a lot of praise for noise reduction. I’m new to all of this and I don’t know if LR is good enough on noise or if it’s significantly better than PS CS3 in generally functionality, or if it’s less powerful – how much has changed in the last few years? Any advice would be good.
Donal

 10.
Hi,
Does anyone know if/where I could buy a replacement primary mirror for my Coolscan V?
I bought the scanner last year and it seemed to work fine - I did some sample scans. I've had work done on the house with lots of dust generated and so I opened the scanner and removed the mirror to check if it had gathered any dust - and it had. There appears to be either deposits or scratches on the mirror - I can't really tell. I used PEC Pad lint-free wipes and some PEC-12 negative cleaner but this did't seem to have any effect - that's why I think they might be scratches. The scanner still runs fine with no obvious marks or features on the scanned images but I'm sure that the overall quality is affected by the poor state of the mirror.
Is there a more effective way to clean the mirror or is it possible to buy a replacement mirror in the UK? Any guidance appreciated.
D. Murphy
