Using a 5D II with the 1.4X-A on a Canon 500mm f4.5 L (700mm) and a cheap no-glass adapter focus was possible to 55 yards, which covers much of whatever might be a subject for this lens. For shorter or longer telephotos a simple ratio should be close enough.
