<p>LOOKING at the spring loaded shelf in all 3 pix, it appears that in the 1st photo the shelf hasn't risen as much as in the next 2 photos. This shelf has the foam mirror damper on the bottom. Some SRT models had a mirror lockup lever on the front panel that was about 1/4" in diameter. In its center there were iirc, 2 thin ribs. I think in normal operation these ribs were vertical. You turned the lever so they were horizontal to raise the mirror up. This feature was to reduce any mirror shake on long exposures. If your camera has 1, it would be to the left of the self timer lever. from what I can see, the foam looks to be ok altho a telltale sign of bad foam would be a discoloration on the front of the mirror.</p>
