1.
Thanks for the info, i cant really do anything about it i just gonna have to risk getting a low shutter count with hopefully just a minimal video used.
Anyway thanks again really appreciate it

 2.
Hello, as i am in the market for a used dslr full frame camera and of-course looking for the lowest actuation, i was just wondering what if the camera has been used extensively primarily on video does it put strain on the shutter mechanism ? how does video affect camera life ?

 3.
Thank you very much William W. i really appreciate that.

Please do look me up on flickr i haven't been able to upload anything in there for a very long time but only because of my busy schedule but i have a tons of pics just waiting to be uploaded, anyway those pics aren't really the best to look at but i know i am getting there.

I will wait a couple of days before i buy to see the best deal i can get and i will try to post some photos here after i figure out how.

Cheers.

 4.
Thank you so much for all your responses, i really appreciate every bit of advise that you all gave me.

I am really looking towards getting the 5d mk3 that is why i didn't sell my lenses but i was somehow derailed by the d810 seeing that it is a newer camera than the 5d mk3 and the high dynamic range that it gives, anyway all your advises made me comeback to my senses that i don't really need to switch platforms.

I sold my 70D because... well as William W. pointed out i really wanted to go and try high end camera which is the full frame and no i do not want the 6D as great as it is simply because i have been used with a fast af of the 70D.

Yes i think i would heed more to the advise of Wouter Willemse and go to a store to get a feel of both cameras.

but if you feel you need a full frame high-end camera to get good photos, I think you're setting yourself up for some expensive disappointments

I don't think i will be disappointed if i go full frame, i am already taking good pictures from my previous camera which is the 70D, sure i had a bit of a problem before when i used it, but i was able to resolved that and sure enough it was me that was the problem and not the camera, I've shoot with that camera for 3 years and it was 56k actuation's when i sold it and b4 that i had the 1100D which set me to photography so i think going full frame will only improved me not that i am saying i will not improved on my previous camera is just that... well as William W. pointed out i really want to go full frame and personally i think it will really help me rather than disappoint me, i know all this gear are all just tool of the trade but if you got the right tool and the tool that you liked, wouldn't it make the job a bit easier.

Again many thanks to everyone for all your wonderful advises and i will surely go to a store and check and feel both camera but it would probably be the canon 5d mk3 that i would be getting and yes i would have loved to get the mk4 but its just too expensive for me. Cheers

 5.
First off i am sorry if i posted it here as i am not sure where to post this and since i am still a beginner so i just figured here but if its not supposed to be here then i am sorry.
I recently sold my canon 70d and i am going full frame but my problem is that i am torn between getting a canon 5d mk3 or a nikon d810 that is the only choice i am looking for, actually d750 is nice but just too many problems and recall i just dont want to risk it, and i can only get it 2nd hand.
But anyway from all the reviews that i watched and read it seems that the d810 is a lot better than the 5d mk3 but the main advised that i am asking ( please ) is that is it a NOTICEABLE difference in terms of af focus, image quality and low light capability or is the difference is something that i can just simply manage in lightroom.
I am not a professional and not even close to it but i do shoot some indoor event such as school plays and functions from time to time that is why i need something reliable when it comes to low light and of course i used it a lot on landscape nature portraiture and just general photography but never on video.
I only sold my 70d body but i still have my lenses which is a tamron 24-70 , 70-200, canon 50mm and a efs 10-22 and a yongnuo flash gun as well. I wont be having any issue selling all those lenses if i could assess that if indeed the difference between the d810
and 5d mk3 is indeed significant.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE i would really appreciate any advised regarding this matter and one more thing i am not a fanboy of any of this so please do not make this a conversation between nikon vs canon thing i just want to get the best value for my money as these cameras and lenses dont come cheap.
Thank you very much and hoped to get some advised.

 6.
Hello again, first off thanks again for all your responses really appreciate it and sorry for my late response as i was out for a week.

Like i said i am fully convinced that i dont need to buy that 6d and i am fully grateful for all your honest advised , and i will be sticking to my 70d but let me just be clear that i didn't say all my shots are not tact sharp i only said some of my shot are not tact sharp and i am being honest at that time when i thought going FF might give me a better focus and a better image all in all but of course i knew very well that i will be putting a lot of effort as well to make it work.

I am not a pixel peeper by no means i dont even know how to do it honestly there is still a lot of things that i dont understand with my camera as of now i still have difficulty understanding the histogram and at the moment im in the process of learning how to micro adjust as 1 of the comment suggest, right now im going back to basic and i just recently learned something about recomposing and i strongly believe im doing it all wrong and im just glad i found that link on how to properly recomposed and i think some of my out of focus problem comes with my recomposing.

If i may please ask an off the topic question about my camera, i just recently noticed the green circled number from the right side beside the iso number if you looked from the viewfinder even on the lcd screen, i have watched a you tube video and i saw from that 70d video that it was 99 and mine is 14 even when it beeps and focus it still is 14 but from that video when it focus its 99 www.youtube.com/watch?v=3vQwZzbhzXs. Can someone please enlighten me about that or do i need to make another thread for that question ?

Anyway i would have happily post a pics showing my problem but i simply dont know how to, i tried inserting but a pop up window is asking for a url and its in my desktop so im kinda lost on how to, but anyway i know the problem is me and i just need to sharpen my technique and skills. I will not be buying that 6d for the moment but i will surely wait for the 6d mk2 and by then i will judge for myself if i would need one.
thank you all.

 7.
Thank you very much. I am quite pleased with all the advised that was given and i do take it all in serious consideration when making my decision , and for now i think i would stick with my 70d and worked to sharpen my technique. No i am not making these as an excuse to go full frame , before i found out that some ( not all ) of my shots weren't tact sharp i was completely happy with my 70d and see no reason to go FF but seeing i have a blurry picture sometimes i just thought that maybe jumping to FF would solved that hence me asking for an advised and getting it and im really appreciative for all your advised that there is no reason for me to get the 6d.

But truth be told i have to admit there is an itch in me to go FF as Mr.William W. pointed out that there is a persistence in me to moved to a FF ( i have completely forgotten about my first post ). But please do not get me wrong as i am still under the impression that a FF would give me a better image quality than what i am using right now. I am still very young when it comes to photography and i value the advised of all season photographers, that is why i am convinced right now to stick with my 70d and sharpen my techniques, although i feel that i can very well sharpen my skill and technique even better on a FF but i am convinced now that there is really no point in doing so.
Thank you very much for those responses about the shutter and sync speed of the 6d i will keep those advised for my added knowledge and saying that, i wasn't aware that my canon 50mm f1.4 can be used on a FF camera thank you very much Mr. Marcus Ian for stating that, now that lens would be for keep now.

Again thank you all for all your kind advised i guess i wont be jumping to go to a full frame ... at least not yet.

Cheers.

 8.
Hello first off i apologized if this is the wrong forum to ask. I am currently using a 70d for 2 years now and i feel i am ready to go full frame now although i am not a pro and not even near to it still a hobbyist but anyway my main shoots are just everyday life , street photography, travel , portraiture of family's and friends but most of all every time i have the chance i love shooting landscape but that's only on travels and holidays ( day-off and weekend ), but on occasions sometimes i am ask to shoots birthdays and christening ( paid of course but you know just a little ) and i I've done a couple of studio set up but i have a semi pro with me when i did the shoot, i do shoot low light sometimes or more often than that when the situations calls for it , and lastly i dont shoot video.

Now lately as i am gradually understand this art of photography ( or simply saying that now i am getting a little better that i am noticing how bad i am ) i noticed that some of my photos are not entirely tact sharp i know its me and not the camera. i shoot raw and on manual mode even when i first bought my 70d and it didnt take long for me to understand the proper exposure but like i said some of my photos are not exactly tact sharp particularly when shooting portrait and its making me very uncomfortable and sometimes making me loose confidence on myself knowing it may have been me and not the camera but as im doing my research i couldn't help but notice the issue on the 70d particularly the center focus, that is when it came to me that maybe it wasn't just me.

So now im thinking to go full frame and the closest that i could afford right now is the 6d and for me to even get it is to sell my 70d and some of my lens w/c is the 18-135 stm , 10-22, 50mm 1.4 and another kit lens from my previous 1100d. I would still have my tamron 24-70 f2.8 vc and tamron 70-200 f2.8 vc for me to use if i would get the 6d

Now the only thing that is stopping me to go to 6d and this is the advised that i am seeking is that, is all that consideration enough to merit to get the 6d ? and im also extremely concern about the 1/4000 shutter speed of the 6d knowing that i have 2 lenses which can go at f2.8, if i ever used it on broad daylight on f2.8 im thinking that 1/4000 may not be enough to cut it. The 11 AF points and only one being crossed type i think i could lived with having read some reviews that it is a very good center focus unless someone here says otherwise. I wont even bothered by the 1/180 sync speed as i know nothing about it although i did mention that i've done a studio type set up with 2 strobes lighting but like i said i have a semi pro at that time and he did all the set up all i did is shoot. But i would appreciate even more if someone here would explain it to me what the 1/180 sync speed is of the 6d and will it be a problem if i ever do a studio type shoot again.

I know that the 6d mkII is due some time next year or atleast that is what the rumor is saying but today and next year is still a lot of time and every time i shoot portraiture and sees a couple of blurry ones, it just kills me.

Thank you very much and sorry if took so many words to explain my situation and i really hoped someone here would help me.
Cheers.

 9.
thank you very much i really appreciate every advised that all of you gave and will definitely check out that strobist site, saying that i will consider that 430 EX-II and compare it to that of yongnuo yn560III , and thank you very much @Jochen Schrey for noting which battery to used i will definitely get that sanyo eneloop recharchable batteries.
My plan is to used a speed light to advanced my portraiture, nothing fancy i just want to explore my photography and try to be creative and see what i could achieve if i have a flash gun.
again thank you very much for all the responses.

 10.
hello, i am still a newbie in photography and need to know what is a good flash gun for a mid budget price, i am using a canon 70d and need to know if its worth to buy a canon speed light or if a third party brand would do ? if so what is a good fit for my 70d for a mid budget price, and also i dont really understand much about the technicality of a flash gun at the moment ( but im pretty sure i will learn it as soon as i get my hands on it ) but for now i really want to know what flash should i be buying.
would really appreciate a good advise please.
thank you very much

 11.
Thank you very much for all those helpful responses, after reading those responses , it all makes a whole lot of sense for me now. I really could not find any logical reason to go get the canon 6d other than it gives a lot more DoF and the low light capabilities is a little more than my current camera but saying that i think my current camera is still more than adequate enough for the kind of shoots that i do. Like i mention before what i loved to shoot most is landscape and nature ( not professionally of course ) and a bit of portraiture and i really feel like i needed a longer lens that is why i am considering a 70-200 f/2.8 the reason for the f/2.8 is because i really loved a shallow DoF when it comes to portraiture so i was thinking if do i get this lens i would get some reach and still have the shallow DoF for my portraiture but saying that i would consider getting the 70-200 f/4 as it was suggested that it also gives a good shallow DoF.
At the end of the day i think i would keep my 70d and just get the best 70-200 glass that i could afford and hope that it works for me. Again i would just like to thank all the response that i got as it really made me think what i really want to get. Cheers : >

 12.
hello. i am new to this site and to this forum and im very new new to photography ( less than a year ) and i loved shooting landscape, nature and a bit of portraiture and im a soccer for shallow DOF. Currently im using a canon 70d with a tamron 24-70 f2.8 vc as my daily lens together with a canon 10-22 and 50mm 1.4, now i am prepared to buy a tamron 70-200 f2.8 vc ( not really sure if that is a a smart thing to do ) to get some reach on my shooting at the same time i've been hearing some really good thing about this particular focal range, anyway but recently a friend wanted to buy my 70d ( body only ) for a little less money and i was thinking if i do this then i could buy the canon 6d and go FF but that would mean i could not get the 70-200 lens as my budget would not allow me.
Now the advise that i wanna get is do i just get the 70-200 f2.8 vc and wait for a year or two and just honed my skills and then go full frame maybe at that time there would be a canon 6d mk2 or a cheaper 5d mk3, or do i sell my 70d and get the 6d now and wait a year or two for the tamron 70-200 f2.8 vc or the canon equivalent maybe at that time it will be a little cheaper and will it makes a tons of difference if i switch from 70d to 6d ?
on a side note if there is someone here who has 70d and a tamron 70-200 f2.8 vc i would like to know please how it handles and if im even on the right direction of even thinking of doing it.
Now i know there are other brand of full frame camera but i already have a couple of lens for canon thats why i could only think of 6d for a full frame and 5d mk3 is out of my range.
thank you very much for your patience and thank you very much for what ever response that i would get.

 13.
hello to all, im new to this site and to this forum and i am very new to photography so i wanted to join a good forum to observed and to get some knowledge. anyway i just wanted to start by saying hi to everyone : >
