  1. Thanks for the info from Thomas Tomosey - WD40 does not sound like a very good idea!
  2. Found this https://www.e-group.uk.net/forum/forum/cameras-lenses-and-system-accessories/nostalgia-nexus-early-and-pre-digital-discussion/42225-olympus-om2-sp-firing-blanks Camera is in very good condition. Looks almost unused. Perhaps that is part of the problem. Think will just play with it and see if a bit of use sorts it out. The other thing they mention is using the multiple exposure button to get another go! Might even take the bottom off the see if their is any dust/grime - perhaps little squire of WD40?? I have got another one that works that will swap with him anyway
  3. Hi, I gave my daughter's boyfriend an OM2 Program for Christmas. Great looking camera. But he has just put the first film through it and says that intermittently he has to wind the film on twice before the shutter is cocked. I have just developed his first film and can see what he means. Don't have the camera with me but any ideas what may be causing this? Cheers David
  4. Found this https://www.amazon.co.uk/Spotlight-Projection-Pathway-Garden-Lighting/dp/B07VRNWX3Y And at £4.29 might be worth a punt. And because its from Amazon could always send it back ....
  5. I think the direct replacement in the UK is an MR16 bulb - the largest I can find is about 8w that is equivalent to 50W halogen. I think that would just lengthen exposures too much
  6. Its just for black and white - do you think I could put a 240v LED in it?
  7. Good evening, I have just bought a large darkroom sink and with the sink came an LPL 6700 enlarger. But it does not have a transformer. It has a 12v 100w bulb. What is the most cost effective way to connect it to a transformer and timer? Could I just swap the bulb for a 240v LED? What about a normal light 12v transformer - would that work. Any other suggestions very welcome. I am not adverse to a bit of DIY electrics and can use a soldering iron. Many thanks in anticipation of your help
  8. Thanks for your help - it was the auto bracket button. Now all working perfect
  9. I have just reset the custom settings on the camera and the -2EV has gone and this is the result. Looks much better. Will try tomorrow to see if happier with results Thanks for suggestions
  10. When I look at the EXIF data the D5500 says -2 EV but I have not set any exposure adjustment and otherwise the settings look the same. Where does the -2EV come from and how can I change, 'cos I think that might be the problem Thanks
  11. Am shooting JPEGs - don't have any same scene images because have just had one camera - but an experiment sounds like a good idea
  12. I have a D7100 and bought a D5500 as a travel camera. I like its light weight and smaller body form. I have them set up the same - P and matrix meeting but on the D7100 most of my snaps come out correctly exposed whereas on the D5500 half are over exposed and half are under exposed - any idea how I can alter things on the D5500 to make it easier to get good exposure like on the D7100 Ta David
