@geoffm I was able to recover all image files and even some images left on the card from previous formatting.

Just an update: used free software Puran File Recovery to recovery both raw and jpg files successfully.

I accidentally formatted a Sandisk SD card with 6D's format function and have tried various recovery software to recover the images with no luck. It will be greatly appreciated if someone can share his/her experiences of a successfully recovery in a similar situation, particularly with 6D. Thanks in advance!

<p>24-105 is a kit lens for 6D. Get it first and worry about expending lens collection later. I have various of other lenses (14mm, 40mm, 50mm, 70-200 F2.8IS II and 100-400, and C/Y lenses), and use the kit lens >98% of times. </p>

<p>Unless you will shoot BIF, 6D's focusing is fine with candid shootting. 5D3 is over priced.</p>
