  1. Pied Kingfisher with "lunch" - taken in Uganda
  2. male silverback mountain gorilla, Bwindi Impenetrable Forest Park, Uganda. I was at most 10 feet from this one, a bit nerve wracking
  3. Another photo of the sword billed hummingbird in response to Mary Doo's comment about the "sword" from my January 1 post. It is amazing to see it fly with such a long bill
  4. Sword billed hummingbird In Ecuador. . Of all animals it has the longest bill or beak in comparison to its body size.
  5. chestnut breasted coronets in Ecuador
  6. You are right about the ID. I have seen peregrine's before in that area and just assumed it was that. I would go with Cooper's hawk as its shins were pretty covered.
  7. Royal Tern in Ecuador. D500, 200 - 400mm f4 at 400 mm. ISO 1400 1/1250, f8 EV 0.67
  8. Not a good shot of an Andean condor in the Andes of Ecuador. It was the best I could do. I was at 12,000 feet looking down into the valley in the pouring rain and took this with my Nikon D500 and 200-400 Nikon f4 zoom at 400mm at maximum distance.
  9. Another weird one from the forests of the Andes in Ecuador.
  10. One of the weirdest looking birds, an Andean Cock of the Rock, from the mountains of Ecuador.
  11. I took these with my 200-400mm Nikon F4 at 400mm while sitting at a restaurant outside after a whale watching trip. The shots of the whales are lousy . Thee are the best shots from the day It was the only lens I had. Both taken at 1/2.500 at fB
