  1. <p>I've been shooting with the kit above for the last few years and would say that I've been generally dissatisfied with the results. At times the pictures come out great but often times things are just slightly out of focus or not as sharp as I would want/expect them to be, particularly when shooting wide open, and it's enough to annoy me.<br> <br /> I got this kit used when I was still a student and on a very limited budget and would like to look into upgrading it in the near future. I shoot mainly portraits, travel, some landscape, and some indoors. I'm not sure where to start as far as an upgrade goes and any help is appreciated. My budget would be pretty broad as I'd rather get something that I'm going to be happy with and save a bit more than get something tomorrow. I wouldn't rule out a move to FX eventually and so an FX compatible lens would be a small consideration for me (though not necessarily something I'd spend a ton extra on).</p>
