1. For head shots with the 150mm f/4 lens you need to use the 18mm extension tube or perhaps the 1.4 X magnifier. 150 x 1.4 = 210mm.... best plan is the 18mm extension tube.
 2. Excellent points about depth of field with 6x7 format. Consider the 35mm camera using 85mm f/1.8 for subject isolation in portraits, the 6x7 portrait lens is often a 150mm f/4. Note that Bronica GS-1 was built to be a lighter 6x7 than Pentax and Mamiya. All lenses are leaf with maximum speed of 1/500 and the lenses are slower f stop which keeps the lenses lighter and smaller. Fastest lenses are 80mm f/3.5 and 100mm f/3.5. The 150mm is equivalent to 75mm and the 200mm is equivalent to 100mm neither is particularly close focusing thus an 18mm extension tube is used for close headshots.
 3.
It may be that those Mamiya Z series lenses are of good quality and are orphaned by poor camera bodies…. so would they be a good purchase for Mirrorless systems and adapters? I tried the 50mm Macro on a Nikon V1 and was pleased.
-- Dan Dempsey

 4.
I will be moving to Arizona near four-corners. I would like to know the pros and cons of using a Mamiya Cabin 67-Z slide projector with 6x7 slides vs a digital projector with 24 mpx images from a Pentax k3. Landscape photos are the most likely subject.
I have both 6x7 and 645 film cameras. I will need to buy a projector. Any thoughts on the screen image differences?
-- Dan

 5.
I have an RF645 which I bought 2nd hand some years ago. The film advance mechanism was a problem on many of these. Things were fine for a while but ..... Eventually on mine the film would not advance. I sent it to Tamron/Bronica service in New York and all is fine now. If you like film this is a really nice camera.

 6.
I have a Bronica GS-1 and a Polaroid Film Back G.
Is there any way to use this back with any currently available instant film?

If so what modifications to the film back are needed?

 7.
Completely off task here .... but Pentax K-mount and current Pentax in body stabilization means all lenses from Pentax A lens forward have both metering and shake reduction. As to what that will mean in sales volume for the coming in 2016 Pentax Full Frame digital SLR I have no idea. Has Ricoh saved Pentax? Time will tell. Ricoh is now introducing more Full Frame lenses.

 8.
The above conversation has me thinking ..... I have a Bronica GS-1 and a Polaroid back attachment. I have never used the Polaroid back. Now I am interested. What film would I use for this Bronica GS-1 6x7 camera's Polaroid Back?

 9.
The 645 for the road.....
Look at Bronica rf645 ... the medium format rangefinder. For portraiture the standard lens should be fine. Very compact and easy to carry with good glass.

 10.
The GS-1 metered Rotary Prism is often available at a reasonable price on eBay.
There is also a hard to find GS-1 tripod attachment, which rotates the camera from vertical to horizontal.
