  1. This lens works very well and is fun to focus through. The only flaw I can find is the cosmetic wear where the enamel has been rubbed off as indicated by the green circle. If someone spent ten minutes staring at it with a magnifying glass I am sure they would find some type of minor cosmetic flaw. The HN-20 hood and B+W filter are included. Postage will be charged at my actual cost to you, signature required. Feel free to ask questions. I am no longer posting any kit on the auction site due to the new selling rules but I can share my user name so that you can see my feedback. I will accept PayPal or similar so that you have buyer protection. Located near Seattle.
  2. I used my Dad’s EL to take some snapshots today. Fun camera to use. (This photo is vertical prior to upload so forgive the horizontal orientation)
  3. Beautiful lighting and a great vantage point. Next time you might consider a frame with a distinct subject in the foreground, or natural pattern to catch the viewer[s attention.
  4. My departed Grandpa’s Rolfix. I’ve recently used it many places from the Golden Gate Bridge to the Empire State Building. Thanks to a recent CLA it works well.
  5. I called APS and they confirmed that they continue to service Nikon’s classic film bodies. I sent two in for estimates.
  6. I actually have the receipt from the Navy base exchange where my Dad bought it in the 70’s.
  7. I haven’t been on Photo.net for years, as life and family and surgeries have occupied my time. I have a family Christmas trip planned (after yet another surgery!) and want to use one or more of my manual focus Nikon bodies because I have missed classic photography. Likely a Nikkormat EL (has sentimental value) and an F. I would probably get a lens serviced at the same time. If anyone has recommendations I’d appreciate them.
  8. I am going to give you a recommendation based not on objective considerations of efficiency and comfort, but fun. Pentax 6x7 with TTL and any of the nice 2.8 or 2.4 lenses, or a 67II with auto exposure. Big, yes. Heavy, yes. Too heavy? That's up to you. I would get one overhauled before taking it, and run at least five rolls of test film through it before the trip. I'd also locate en route labs to keep track of any issues, as a previous poster said. I took one to Alaska and Puerto Rico in a backpack with a spare lens and supplies. I also had a mechanical self timer to use with mirror lock up. The pitchforks and torches should arrive within a few minutes...
