  1. My eyes are not good enough for the rangefinder and focus peaking on the M10 sucks. OP: check out the Hasselblad X1D II. It’s ergonomically superior, not much heavier than the M10 and the lenses are excellent. I can use some of my favorite M lenses using an adapter (no autofocus, but the X1D II’s focus peaking is outstanding (in the EVF, or on the touchscreen. I get consistently better results. Pretty sure I’m going to sell my M10 body.
  2. Summilux 75 1.4 or Thambar. Summilux 75 is more versatile.
  3. I’ve been surprised at how good it is, especially for traveling. It and the summitar 50 f2 weigh very little and have “character” wide open, but sharpen up nicely if stopped down.
  4. You can try to be nice, as the lawyer suggested, or go public on FB, which has worked. The photographer is a con artist. “I’m sick, here’s your money back” is one thing. “I’m sick and I’m making it your problem” is something else. The law won’t help you. Public accountability will.
  5. They’re always worried about being treated the way they treat others.
  6. Get a 35, 59 and 75 Summilux. Old ones. Shoot wide open.
