1.
Thank you both for your feedback. I find it strange that my lens has decided to develop a hotspot now given that I have used this camera and lens for IR work in the past without issue. I will experiment with different focal lengths and document the changes in aperture to see how it affects the hotspot. At any rate, I suspect it will be inevitable to correct this issue through Lightroom.

 2.
I need help identifying this problem:
(Any suggestions or feedback to fix this problem would be deeply appreciated).

 3.
Here are my recommendations for Kodak Ektachrome IE that requires E-4 processing.. (Not the newer EIR):
Visible light meter reading at ISO / ASA 100. Use a yellow filter for optimal images. (A Hoya Y-52 filter will work fine). You might need to compensate 2-3 stops depending on lighting, but I'm sure you already know that. Keep a detailed logbook to track your results if you have more than 1 roll. Keep the f-stop closer to f-22, or smallest possible, with largest depth of field focus (infinite). Use a tripod and cable release combo. I prefer long exposures when composing images with running water for a dream-like effect, but as I mentioned it's simply a preference. Anticipate the image color conversions when composing the picture to get the best results (C-Y-R). That's about all I can think about at the moment. Feel free to message me if you have any questions or concerns.

I recently tried a Hoya R72 Infrared filter, with a 5 stop compensation, but I will let you know of the results of that experiment after processing.

** I'm not sure if you live in California, but I know a place that can process the 20 Exp. film for about $10.

 4.
Sure, we can gamble for a fair priced & usable Kodak HIE / Konica 750 roll on eBay..
EFKE IR820 / Aura is now just as expensive due to its recent discontinued status.
I suppose our only options in today's market is Ilford SFX 200 and Rollei 400s / Infrared / Retro 400s

1. Does anyone achieve impressive results with today's options?
2. Are there any other options available that I am missing?
3. Is anyone currently selling true infrared film at fair value? (expired or not).

I don't mean to sound nihilistic, but I just checked my friendly neighborhood Freestyle Photo..
As of today:
- Ilford SFX 200: (120 size) $8.99
- Ilford SFX 200: (35mm Roll) $9.49 - (Low Stock)
- Rollei Infrared 400s: (120 size) $11.49
- Rollei Infrared 400s: (Twin Pack - 35mm) $13.99
- Rollei Infrared 400s: (4x5 / 25 Sheets) $52.99 (Low Stock)
** So I suspect they will follow the footsteps of their predecessors in the near future.

 5.
I recently bought a Canon FTb QL as well, and I recently noticed that the battery was leaking (hence the light meter inaccuracy). The problem is: before I researched the battery type, I removed the battery with my fingers to inspect for corrosion. After researching, I found that there is a possibility that the battery I removed was a Mercury 625. Although I am hoping the previous owner replaced the original battery, should I be concerned about touching a leaking Mercury battery?

Replacement battery options:
1. WeinCell MRB625 (1.35v Zinc Air Battery)
2. MR-9 Battery Adapter + Use of 386 / SR43W Silver Oxide battery (1.55 V)
