1. Hi all, I store my negatives in plastic boxes, inside print file sleeves with a silica gel pack. I always panic in the summertime with the heat. Will summer heat damage negatives? Is it a slow degradation that's not like ferrotyping? Interested to hear some longtime photographers give anecdotes of their experience storing film through hot summer temperatures (no air conditioning). Chris
 2.
Hi,
Anyone noticed the Tri-x backing has changed? The tab that slides into the empty spool is now white. More importantly, I've heard Kodak is now using a new slicker backing. The problem is that the backing slips a bit when removing a roll from the camera. I'm getting what's called "fat roll", or light leaks outside the frame.
Seems loading and unloading Tri-x 120 must be done more carefully with this new backing.
Any thoughts on this?
Chris

 3.
Hey all,
I just bought a 1000S and I can't get the gosh darn front shutter button to fire. White dot is on. Top shutter fires. No film in camera. Lever set to multi. Front shutter just has no tension to it. Is there something I'm missing here? It should be firing, right?

Thanks!
