I just stumbled across this site amongst my bookmarked websites and retrieved the account I opened exactly 17 years ago today. I think I have made some big strides since then. I began my digital photography with a Pentax istD and moved up through two Pentax K-x and now have a K-70. Historically, my cameras were first a Petri FT film SLR with several extra lenses and accessories. Later I bought a used Pentax K1000 and stayed with the brand since. I enjoy landscapes, portraiture and just fooling around and experimenting. i live in rural northwest Pennsylvania, but have travelled around in my life. Now retired and looking to do more travelling in the states to see as much of this country's beauty as possible in my "twilight years." Looking forward to learning from the folks here and sharing my thoughts and maybe a few photos. Chuck

Truthfully, I do not recall being given any kind of advice for black and white (or even color) photography. Back in my day we took "snapshots" not photographs. Chuck
