Thank you so much! That is exactly what I did, not push the slide in the whole way.

I just bought a 501 C/M with an early 12 magazine back. I shot a roll and everything went fine and the next roll I fired off a couple frames and noticed I forgot to pull the dark slide out. Do these older magazines not have the function that prevents shutter firing with the slide in or is mine defective? Thanks
