4.
Problem solved.
I downloaded the small and large photos and checked their ICC profile in photoshop. Although the original photo uploaded has sRGB ICC profile embedded, the profile was lost, due to resize by photo.net.

The sizes that are being used by PN is 1500x1000 and 680x453. So tried to upload photos of these two sizes. Turned out that if the size is 1500x1000, the smaller version that most people see will still not have the correct ICC profile. If only photo of size 680x453 is uploaded, photo.net does not have to resize therefore the profile is kept. So I decided to upload photos of the smaller size only from now on.
Thanks to all, especially Tim Lookingbill for the helpful insight.

 5.
Hello there,
I noticed that certain photos are not displayed in correct colors in photo.net compared to directly shown in web browser, or in 500px. These photos are converted to sRGB. See this one on photo.net http://www.photo.net/photo/18319857, and on 500px https://500px.com/photo/187213041/rattlesnake-point-sunrise-by-bo-chen?from=following&user_id=8532293.

The one on 500px is closer to the original JPEG. I am wondering if/what specific settings photo.net requires?
My monitor is calibrated by colormunki.

Thanks,
Bo Chen
