I was able to dial in the compensation at 1600 two stops negative and two stops positive prior to other fingers playing with the dial. I just received it back from a clean and lube, so was okay.
On the OM-2n, the asa and compensation are controlled by one dial. In its normal position the dial is rotated for compensation. A line on the on top of the knob aligns with a line on the prism for zero compensation. To set the asa, the dial is pulled up and then rotated. A window on top of the dial reveals the various asa's as it is rotated. The dial is then released at the correct asa. Then the dial is rotated to align with the mark on the prism, essentially zeroing the compensation for that particular asa. I believe the dial was pulled and rotated at the same time taking it off of its 'zero' for all asa's.
I suspect that a particular asa is the one used to set the zero. I've tried various ones but no luck.
