  1. thanks for the thoughtful replies.
  2. I currently am shooting high school and university sports (ice hockey, lacrosse, baseball, etc). Lighting varies dramatically from day to night and indoor outdoor. It is a side job. I sell images to parents. The schools use for social posts etc. I am shooting with D850, 70-200 f/2.8. I have TC 1.4 and 2.0. I feel my reach is limited in bigger fields and cropping pics does not give pro results I'm looking for. I was considering buying Nikon 120-300 f2.8. If I add TC 1.4 I have a 420mm f/3.5 which should be good in most light to freeze action. Question is this. Most Z lens' are not f/2.8. I see many pros using Z zooms/primes with f/4 and above. Would a change to Z8, Z9 and S lens be better than the 120-300 f2.8 choice?? I'm happy with D850 overall. Do mirrorless body and lens perform that much better in low light at higher ISO and f stops that F/2.8 lens not necessary??
  3. I've searched this topic and haven't found any good posts. Does anyone tether to an ipad pro wireless or via usb and into what software/app on ipad?? Thanks.
  4. I tried it as you suggested but the 5000 is in remote mode and the flash firing does not trigger the 800. I like having the 850 control all remotes and controlling all their outputs from camera. I wanted to do a colored background via flash and gel on a black background and have other flash for subject. I know I could do it optically with the d700
  5. I think this might not be possible to do but here goes. I have a d850 with wr-r10 and two flash units 5000 and 800. I want to trigger both flashes off camera. Can you command from the camera and then have the 5000 optically flash trigger the 800?? I think using my d700 and commanding via pop up flash I could trigger both flashes optically but the second flash may not be in line of sight. For really accomplishing this wirelessly without purchasing third party remote wireless transceivers and receivers I probably need another 5000.

    D850 vs Z7

I just upgraded to a 2019 iMac with 72 GB ram, 8 core processor and high end graphics card and 1TB hard drive and 10TB external G drive. I'm using Lightroom for first time and photoshop.

a little tongue in cheek but the Z7 felt like my kids Coolpix on steroids.
