Maybe you should be on the Sony, Canon or Nikon forum if you think that we are the Amish of photography. I've used Leica Ms for 20 years for very specific reasons that I find hard to shed (RF, size, silent operation, etc) but with your logic we should still be shooting with M3 cameras because it was good enough. Yet the M6 with TTL was a welcome improvement to the M3/4/5 and Cartier Bresson used one thus embracing new technology like we are now. Then the M7 with Aperture Priority was another welcome addition (God knows I used that feature all the time). Now the M10 is near perfect but yes I could use a little bit more resolution so that I can do bigger prints if I want to. Nothing wrong with that. No I don't need more dynamic range (we had very few stops in the film days and we somehow managed perfectly well).

And you should ditch your car for a horse and carriage...

Difference Between Rolleiflex 2.8D and 2.8F
babouphoto replied to Analog Amateur's topic in Medium Format
I have a 2.8D and used to own a F. You can change the focusing screen on the D (Harry Fleenor does that really well). It is the same optics as you mention. I don't think the differences are that significant in my view.- 14 replies

Amazing build quality. It will never die! And the lenses are wonderful.

Has anyone seen any update any when this will start shipping? The press release from Dec 10th said it would ship in 10 days which would suck as it will not arrive in time for Xmas...

Steve's Camera Service in LA is very very good. He is really backed up so it may take a month or so but he does great job. You should also ask Precision Camera if they would work on it - not sure but excellent work as well!

B + W 40, Yellow/Orange 16 (shadow details)
babouphoto replied to babouphoto's topic in Black & White Practice
Thanks everyone. I actually preferred the filters (B+W #16). Will report back but was expecting that there would be little difference between the two. -
Anyone compared Ektachrome to Portra 160/400? I was going to do a proper, controlled studio test this week but ran out of time! I'm especially curious to see how they render skin tones. Both seem great from my direct experience but would love to know if anyone did a proper comparison.
