  1. Lots of Russian fakes curculating as well... Hard to tell from the pics.
  2. Mint Mamiya Universal with coveted 100/2.8 (Planar) and 50/6.3 (Biogon) lens. Comes with 4 backs including two rare "Model 3" backs and the rare and impossible to find shutter cable for these! $2,300 for complete kit. - Complete CLA in December 2018 by Steve's Camera Service (paperwork available). - No scratches, fungus, oil on blades, etc. - 50mm finder (mint). - 100/2.8 in perfect condition. - 50/6.3 in perfect condition. - 4 backs: two 6x7 (one model 3) and two 6x9 (one model 3) - all with the dark slide. One comes with original packaging. - Handgrip with shutter cable. - Pack of 4 replacement laser-cut light seals for backs. This is the ultimate landscape camera with incredible lenses and 6x9 and 6x7 backs. Selling because I don't use it enough and it should find a more active family! The Leica strap does not come with the camera.
  3. None of the reviewers complained stop far.
  4. Maybe you should be on the Sony, Canon or Nikon forum if you think that we are the Amish of photography. I've used Leica Ms for 20 years for very specific reasons that I find hard to shed (RF, size, silent operation, etc) but with your logic we should still be shooting with M3 cameras because it was good enough. Yet the M6 with TTL was a welcome improvement to the M3/4/5 and Cartier Bresson used one thus embracing new technology like we are now. Then the M7 with Aperture Priority was another welcome addition (God knows I used that feature all the time). Now the M10 is near perfect but yes I could use a little bit more resolution so that I can do bigger prints if I want to. Nothing wrong with that. No I don't need more dynamic range (we had very few stops in the film days and we somehow managed perfectly well).
  5. And you should ditch your car for a horse and carriage...
  6. I'm sure everyone has seen this but it's supposed to come out tomorrow. $8,500 price tag, 41MP. Leica M10 Monochrom top view picture reveals a new 12,500 ISO setting (new ISO range: 160-100,000) - Leica Rumors
  7. I have a 2.8D and used to own a F. You can change the focusing screen on the D (Harry Fleenor does that really well). It is the same optics as you mention. I don't think the differences are that significant in my view.
  8. The M10 is amongst the best Leicas that I have used including my MP (film) and M6 TTL. I can print 30x40 photos with no grain and larger with limited grain. It's near perfect!
  9. Actually the battery life on the M10 is very good if you don't use the LCD screen a lot. I spent a month in India and basically used one battery most days and when going over barely used the extra one.
  10. For those of us who shoot with and do not collect Leica M cameras, we need the following: - 50MP - Hybrid EVF/optical Everything else is perfect! I go crazy when I see 10 limited edition cameras being produced instead of decent innovation keeping up with Sony, Fuji, Canon or Nikon.
  11. Amazing build quality. It will never die! And the lenses are wonderful.
  12. Has anyone seen any update any when this will start shipping? The press release from Dec 10th said it would ship in 10 days which would suck as it will not arrive in time for Xmas...
  13. Steve's Camera Service in LA is very very good. He is really backed up so it may take a month or so but he does great job. You should also ask Precision Camera if they would work on it - not sure but excellent work as well!
  14. Thanks everyone. I actually preferred the filters (B+W #16). Will report back but was expecting that there would be little difference between the two.
  15. Anyone compared Ektachrome to Portra 160/400? I was going to do a proper, controlled studio test this week but ran out of time! I'm especially curious to see how they render skin tones. Both seem great from my direct experience but would love to know if anyone did a proper comparison.
