1.
thank you everyone! all your comments are very helpful. very appreciated.

 2.
Craig

thank you for your advise. Yes I have been considering to get the turbo SC, a compact power pack. Compared to the turbo 3, SC has less power supply, can only good for 100-250 flashes, according the quantum instrument website. But I think quantum is probably the best option for now.
and so i think if I got the turbo battery and the cable, I don't need to put AA batteries into the flash right? just to make sure.

 3.
Hi Rodeo! I was told that Canon 580ex ii have overheat protection and so it would stop flashing after firing a short interval of time, depends on how much flash power is being used. Nikon flashes don't have overheat protection. I know B&H have Nissin speedlite for sale, and this flash is designed for rapid shoot and has good heat resistance, but quite expensive. But thank you for letting me know that.

 4.
Hi Michael! usually i don't use full power unless i have to. I generally use 1/2 or little more. I use low ISO like 100-160, Manual mode. Maybe I should try lower power and crank up ISO to 800.

 5.
Hi all

I use canon 580ex ii speedlites for events photography; generally i shoot about 300-800 photo per event, and most of the shots need flashes. I always use Sanyo Eneloop rechargable batteries for speedlites, and Pocket wizards to remotely trigger flash. My camera is canon 5d Mark ii. But I know that these AA batteries are not very good after I fire approx. 50-60 flashes in 10 minutes, and I don't fire flash rapidly. The problem is it does not fire sometimes. So I think i need external power pack. Not sure what power pack is good. I heard quantum turbo battery is good, but they can be quite expensive, especially the turbo 3. anyone has any other recommendation? I am here to look for any other good options. i appreciated your advices in advance here. thank you
Anton.

 6.
Thank you very much, Michael and Pete. I often use speedlite at the wedding reception or when I shoot indoor. I don't use full power unless it is absolute necessary. I usually only fire 3-5 continuous flashes. Yes, I use light diffuser, such as Vello mini softbox or the Vello bounce diffuser, and I shoot with ISO 400-1000 when ambient light is low. The eneloop batteries should be fine, because I bought them brand new. But I got my 580exii from other user on ebay. I think I should consider to either get another 580exii or just get a FP strobe light.

 7.
Hi all! I use canon 580exii speedlite for shooting wedding, and it works pretty well. I use those eneloop rechargable batteries for speedlites. However, I always have problem sometime after I fire 50-70 flash, and I think it got overheat and so it stop flashing sometime. I understand it probably need more time to recycle, but sometimes I just cannot wait. This is especially true when i have 25+ different groups of family and friends photo I need to take. That why I am considering to get a quantum qflash t5d or strobe light with battery pack. Have anyone used qflash t5d? I know it is a lot more expensive than Canon 580exii, and I wonder if it is worth to get one for shooting wedding. anyone can share their thoughts? thank you

 8.
thank you Marc! your tips are very helpful for sure. I had a 24-70mm f2.8 lens and I am considering to get a 24-105mm lens. I had this lens before, and I found the extra focal length allows me to zoom in closer to subject. However, I did not keep it, and I sold the lens, and replaced it with 24-70mm. I thought 24-70 was a upgrade over 24-105. But once I got more experienced, I feel like that both two lens are equally important.

 9.
Hi Michael M, sorry for the confusion. I only have one 5d Mark ii camera, but I know I need a second camera, and I am trying to buy one if I got enough money. I do have a 85mm 1.8 lens and I love it. The F/4 70-200mm lens is light in weight, but definitely not fast or fast enough in low light shoot, especially when flash is not available. and i agree with you that we should always try to stay away from High ISO like 3200 or higher.

 10.
thank you everyone's response. I did not expect my question would have received so much detailed replies and helpful advices. so thank you so much for your time. This is a very good forum for photog.

I think I will use manual mode to shoot; Some photographers suggest to use prime lens like 50mm or 35mm lens with ultra wide aperture. I never thought about using prime lens because the subjects will be walking from the entrance toward me, and so I think zoom lens may be better choice. I realize the aperture is not as wide, but DOF should not be a major issue. 70-200mm lens allow me to shoot from distance away, and so I don't need to walk back and forth as much. I would probably use prime lens (85mm 1.8)on my second camera if I can get one.

 11.
Hi Landon
i think squarespace is a good one, but you have other good choices, such as photoshelter, wix, format, and zenfolio. Subscribe fee/ plan varies.

 12.
Hi Bob thank you for your advice, and I think it certainly helps me to understand how to avoid making bad mistakes, and create better photo.
I use Canon 5d Mark ii, 24-105mm and 70-200mm lens F/4, and I know my lens are not fast enough in low light situation. I use auto white balance most of the time, and so I do have issue with correct color; I still need to practice custom white balance. I did not know ISO 800 or over can be an issue; I was told my camera do pretty good job when ISO is under 2000. I would use flash for sure if it is allowed in the church.

 13.
THank you Leszek. I usually use 70-200 zoom lens f2.8 or f4. i think increasing the ISO to 2000 can solve the low light issue.

 14.
Hi all
should i use shutter-priority mode (TV) when I shoot in wedding ceremony in a church? manual mode?
the ceiling is high and its color is dark brown, low light, and flash is not allowed. It is a challenge especially when the bridal party walking down the aisle. what setting would you recommend? i appreciate your advise, as I don't have much experience in shooting wedding in a church.
thanks

Anton

 15.
Hello all

I have a question regarding how much to charge my wedding clients. I am a semi-pro wedding photographer based in So. Calif. Most of my clients just want high resolution digital files. If my clients request to purchase prints online, what is the average pricing? and what size clients usually want to purchase? I have no experience on purchase prints and hopefully I can get some advise from other professionals here.

thank you

Anton
