1.
Thanks for the responses.

I'm going to wait to perform surgery and look for parts, etc, until I get to Porto Alegre, Brazil. I have a friend there who works in advertising and he has all sort of contacts that could be helpful. It's probably better for me to wait until I'm somewhere a bit more settled. The road, for an itinerant photographing cyclist is a dirty dusty kind of place.
The camera still functions okay but it was a hell of a blow. It was in its soft case inside my backpack but it must of hit at just the right angle to shear off. I didn't know it was broken until I took it out later to take a photo and as I took it out of the case the lens just dropped out of the body and rolled down the street. Ouch.
I kind of would like an upgrade anyway but that's a different story and probably requires its own post.
Thanks again.

 2.
Ah, I managed to add an image.

 3.
Hello,

I dropped my LUMIX GF1 and the lens mount of my 14-42 lens is broken. I am travelling in South America and decent camera shops are few and far between so I thought I'd post here to try to canvass opinion on whether or not the damage is potentially repairable. I would like to post some photos of the damage but I can't seem to manage the edit image function. So all I can say the plastic bit that locks the lens into the body is broken and hope that that makes some kind of sense.

Thanks for any information you can give me.

Anna
