1.
Hi Mike,
Thanks for the response.. Yep, the SD15 is out as it has a focal plane shutter..
The DP series is attractive to me for the leaf shutters and high speed flash sync.
Am going to wait for the DP1Q and see if the lens has been improved and then take one for a spin and see if I can deal with it..

Thanks again.

 2.
Hi, Thanks once again for all the responses, it is really helpful..
So the more I look into it, I come across the same views..
Basically, the Sigma is a bit of a dog to use (both in shooting and in post) but the image quality is amazing (both for the cost and size).
I have a Ricoh GR and would lump this roughly in the same league as the Fuji.. A pleasure to use and can sync at the flash speeds I am after..
I do like the fact that the Sigma does come in a series of focal lengths that all provide the same amazing image quality..
I guess you could argue for a similar concept with the Fuji and both its wide angle conversion and teleconverter lens. (28,35,50)
Would be interesting to see when someone gets a DP1Q and throws the Ricoh wide angle lens on it (assuming the filter thread is the same as the Sigma DP1M)
Still, from just viewing images online, there is definitely something about the "look" of the Sigma.
:)

 3.
Hi Eric,
Thanks for that, will look into it..
My initial impression is that the Sigma will deliver better image quality.. That is despite all its flaws ;)

 4.
Hi Mike,
Thanks so much for the reply back, is greatly appreciated!
Any idea what the maximum flash sync would be with an aperture of f11 as well as f16?

Yep, full body is what I am after generally.. If i need to get closer, I do not mind some decent distortion for the overall look I am after anyway.. I see the minimum focus distance is 20cms..
So thanks again for the information, unfortunately if those "buffering" times are correct, I think this camera might be out for fashion/portraits for me..
The new Quattro series is meant to be a lot better in this regard, so may have to wait for that model..

 5.
Hi,
I am looking to purchase a Sigma DP1M and hope that someone can please help me out with a few queries I have.. :)
* I am looking to shoot portraits/fashion with it and take advantage of the leaf shutter and use flash with high shutter speeds.. Any idea what is the fastest shutter speed I can use? Any limitations I should be aware of?
* What is the best I can hope for in terms of "write speed" to the card? I have seen some reports of 15 seconds which may mean it is a bit of a deal breaker for this type of work :(
* I have heard that the auto focus is really slow, so would probably look at using manual focus with a loupe on the back.. Anyone else work this way?
Ok, thanks so much, any information you could provide would be much appreciated!

 6.
Ok, great, thanks so much for all your answers!

Guess I will stick with my system and when I am on a commercial job, will look at lugging my laptop around...

Thanks again.

 7.
Hi,
Am hoping someone may be able to help me out here..
Just wondering what the best way to see the results of stitched image results in the field? Am doing a very basic 2-3 x parallax free stitch with a Sony A7R and using the larger image circle of Canon 24mm TS-E lenses? Was hoping to use a Iphone/Ipad with the Wi-Fi capability of the Sony A7R..
This has worked so far using the Sony software to send the images over and then using an App called "Autostitch" to stitch the images together.. It has worked fine so far but the whole process is a bit slow and time consuming..
So was just wondering if there were any other suggestions? Does the Ipad version of Photoshop or Lightroom allow you to do this?

Also, is there any phone/tablet combination that allows a wired connection to the Sony A7R that would somehow allow me to send images over that way? WiFi is o.k but I can see it not being available in all areas at times..

Ok, thanks so much in advance!
