1.
Hi,
Thank you for your responses, it turned out that I was indeed blocking the calibration area at the top. So, user error. It's been too long since I last used the scanner, and I thought (wrongly) that I remembered how to use it.
Thank you again,
/Andreas

 2.
Hi,
I actually lifted the scanning lid on one scan to see if the lamp in the lid was working. And the lamp is moving along the scanning head in the base and the lamp is shining, so the motor and drive belt at least seem fine.
/Andreas

 3.
Hi,
I have a Epson 4870 Photo that I've used for many years to scan documents and such. I originally bought it with the intention of also scanning film, and I did for a couple of years before switching to digital photography only. Now I'm back using film, and I thought I'd scan the film I shot over the summer.
However, I cannot get the transparency unit to work correctly. Reflective scanning works fine, but switching to scanning negatives using the transparency unit produces this result:

Any ideas on what could be wrong? I tried with Epson scan and with Vuescan, and I'm using the Digitaliza film holder for 120 film.
Kind regards,
Andreas Lundin
