  1. Yeah, I'm just trying to avoid the tube warping, which would introduce wrinkles. I've had backdrop stands before, and those multi-section crossbars are garbage. I can definitely see where they would sag over time. I may just go to the local home center and use a piece of galvanized pipe or something more study and leave the rolls hanging.
  2. Bruce Gilden and Vivian Maier. I think those two embody what street photography means.
  3. 53" and 107" are the "standard" widths with the most color options. It's recommended to store the tubes vertically when not in use to avoid warping, but 107" is just about 9ft, too long for 8ft ceilings. Is 53" wide enough for portraits and knees-up shots? Maybe the 86" size would be better?
  4. Marketing guy here. The word "branding" suggests a common theme that is associated with your name. Look up Peter McKinnon on Instagram for example. All of his work has a similar vibe. The subjects vary, but there is a Peter McKinnon look that is instantly recognizable. What is your end game? Are you trying to get work in a specific industry? A particular niche? Or are you just looking to build your own identity? I would argue that all of the platforms you mentioned are not the way to go. They control too much of your content, and ultimately own the rights if you publish your stuff there. Starting your own website is very easy these days. Take a look at Squarespace or WordPress and control your own destiny.
  5. I didn't join to advertise. Just asked a question.
  6. In case you haven't heard of them before: MagMod I'm curious to hear about any real-world use of this product. They have a fancy website, YouTube channel and a bunch of sponsored ambassadors all singing their praises - but I've seen very little from everyday photographers. I enjoy the mobility of speedlights and having a consistent system like MagMod seems ideal. However, it's expensive. Just wondering if anyone actually uses this stuff and what your opinions are.
