  1. I'm having some problems with a Fujifilm Cardia Mini Tiara (aka Fujifilm DL Super Mini) I just got and was wondering if anyone might be familiar with that camera. I put in a new battery and have been shooting a test roll for the past couple of days. It was working well, it loaded the film and was advancing the exposure counter after each shot, it worked with different exposure and focus modes. However, now the shutter won't fire. When I press the shutter button, the lens moves forwards then back as if trying to focus and doesn't take the photo. At first I was wondering if it had trouble focusing, but the same issue happened on fixed focus mode as well and I've tried with different exposure modes too. Does anyone have any idea what might be going on? Thanks!
  2. I went to a repair shop today to pick up another camera I had sent in and brought this one along with me for the guy to take a look. Confirmed it’s fungus, going to return this one :(
  3. I just got my Rolleiflex MX-EVS today and while I was inspecting it, I noticed some spots on both lenses. I was wondering if these are just cleaning marks or something worse. Is there any way I can clean them, or should I just let it be if it won't affect image quality? I've added some photos I took of the front and back of the taking lens. Thanks!
  4. Thanks for the detailed reply Jochen, it wasn’t too cold, probably around 10-15 degrees C, but good to know about the issues with older mechanical cameras in the cold. I have a couple of those so I’ll watch out for that in the future. mikheilrokva and John seems like you guys are right and this is a problem with the horizontally running shutter :( The shots were taken at high shutter speeds as you mentioned. I’ll take my camera in to get checked out this weekend. Thanks for the help!
  5. I recently got back a few rolls of color negative film that I had sent to a lab to be processed. While scanning them in, I noticed some photos had one edge that would fade to black, and the size could range from one strip at the end to almost half the frame. It only happens on maybe up to 3 photos per roll. Some of these shots were taken in broad daylight, and other shots taken at the same place didn't have this black edge at all. I've shot a few rolls with this camera+lens+film setup already but didn't have this problem before at all. With this batch I also sent to a new lab for processing, so I'm thinking if this could have happened during the film processing since it never happened when I was using the other lab? Or maybe it's something to do with the film not being flat in the camera? I just started getting into film photography so I'm not quite sure what's going on here, I would appreciate any help on this. Please let me know if you have any idea what could be happening. Thanks!
