1. Thanks for everyone for their responses. Had no idea there is this incompatibility.
2. Hello, I put an 85mm AF f2 lens on a d5300. But the auto focus doesn't work. I mean it just doesn't auto focus like on a DX lens. Only manual focus. Is there a trick to enable auto focus? Thanks in advance.
3. Hi there, thanks for your reply. Your method would be accurate enough for my purposes too. So you put both the images from your cell phone and the images shot on your SLR into the SAME directory on your PC in order to see the images together. Am i following you correctly? Then how do you import the location data from the cell phone into SLR images?
4. oh, then I was mistaken. I assumed power comes from hotshoe but cming from the cable makes more sense.
5. Hello, I found this item on ebay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/371223193062 Picture shows it can be attached to strap. I am not sure how it then it gets its power if not attached to hotshoe. I wrote to seller to find out.
6. Hello, I am trying to figure out what is the best way to get the D51000 to add location info to the image files. I could use something like this: https://www.amazon.de/-/en/Micnova-GPS-Geotagger-for-Nikon/dp/B00CK907IY/ But 1. I need the hotshoe for flash. I use flash constantly, particularly for filler for daylight portraits. 2. These hotshoe geotaggers need to connect to the camera via a micro usb cable to the side of the camera. And the cable sticking out of the side of the camera is notoriously prone to breakage. I am going to rough outdoor terrain overseas. What do you use for geotagging? Somewhere I heard there is a geotagger that hangs from the strap. But haven't been able to find info about that.
7. Hello, wondering if there is an adaptor that would allow me use a Nikon sb600 on Sony A7iii. I strongly doube it but thought I ask before I sell my strobes.
8. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PybTIWOnQX8 Hello, in this video I am shifting the focus on a 46-year-old 55mm 1.2 AI lens. At second 4, you see how the image suddenly nudges to the left? That's not the camera moving. Something inside the lens shifts as I turn the focus. The lens is damaged, correct? Does anyone have any idea if it is easily repairable? It gives a gorgeous bokeh effect at wide open so I'm wondering if worth it to repair.
9. Hi Ed, it's that remaining time on the card I'm after. Possible to display that on a D5300? I think that is a critical info in order to plan ahead during a long shoot day.
10. Thank you for the replies. Is there anyway to tell how much ACTUAL time is left ?
11. Hello, When I start recording video on my D5300, it starts counting down from 20 mins on 1080 resolution on 30 mins on 720 resolution. But there is actually much more room left on my 32 gb card. Does anyone know why it does this and not provide ACTUAL time left on the card? This caused a huge panic during an interview shoot yesterday. I changed resolution to 720 from 1080 to extend time. But when I checked card in PC, I realized only 3 gb of 32 gb space was used up!
12. Hello, I have a Hasselblad bellows shade that decades ago I used on a 500CM. I think the thread is called Bayonet. Now I want to use the shade on a 52 mm or 72 mm DSLR lens. I know there are adapters for the reverse - to use screw thread lens on a hassy lens but does not anyone know if possible to use a hassy thread on a screw thread? I think this is handy as there are many excellent Hassy filters out there.
13. I was trying to get a make and model to be able to buy it.
14. Hello, Does anyone know what type of portable background is being used in this photo? I mean make and model. I could really use something like this. It looks like it might have weights in it to keep it from being bounced around.
15.
Hello Everyone,
when I look at outdoor sunlight pics I've shot with my D5300 in Adobe Lightroom, it says the color temp is 4650. They look a bit blueish. When I change the settling in Lightroom Library from "As Shot" to "Daylight" the pics become warmer and look more normal.
Is the D5300 doing this by default or is there a setting I need to change inside the camera so it shoots daylight at 5500?
Thank you so much for your help in advance.
