1.
That's great Tim! Thank you very much again.
I'd like to know if anyone thinks I could get this look by using film and pushing it a bit? Perhaps using Portra 160 and pushing it 3 stops to 1600 ISO?

Been investigating a lot and I think that could possibly give the "rembrandt" look that I see in these pics (perhaps I'm the only one hehe). Anyway, I'm going to experiment a bit with it and post my results soon! If anyone has any input please do comment!
Thanks!

 2.
Apologies Tim! I couldn't remember on which forum I had posted that question, so didn't even see I had gotten a response. Definitely not spamming.

Thank you very much for your response :)

 3.
Hi guys, I've been looking at pictures of Mick Rock, Ryan McGinley and Guilles Larrain and noticed some of them have a very particular look that I'd like to get. Pretty sure Mick's and Guilles' photos were made with film, and McGinley's studio shots are supposedly all digital.
So yeah, I'd love your to know your input about what kind of lighting and postprocessing (film and digital) can be done to get this look.
Here's the link so you can check them out. Thanks a bunch!

NSFW: http://imgur.com/a/cmiYQ

 4.
Hi everyone! It's very nice to see such an active forum! I already introduced myself on the New User forum, so I'm looking forward to making some great connections and growing and help others grow as photographers.
I'd like to know how can I recreate this paint-like look on my photos? I know for a fact (the photographer Guilles Larraine said it on an interview) the first 6 pictures, taken on kodachrome film, were not manipulated whatsoever, so photoshop or post-processing is not an option (on these particular 6 pictures).
Mcginley's portraits (the last three) on the other hand are digital.
So anyway, my question is directed more towards how to light a subject to get results close to these :)
Edit: NSFW link! Apologies and thanks Matt Laur.

http://imgur.com/a/wENp5#8
Thanks everyone, cheers.

 5.
Hi everyone! My name is Alex, I'm a new photographer from Mexico City, my website is just about to be finished soon so I'll have to add that later ;)

I began wanting to do nature photography, then slightly got carried away with the portrait bug, and now I'm obsessed with it! Portraits are my main focus, but I still love to learn about all kinds of photography (and other subjects as well).
Anyway, I hope to have some good discussions with everyone here, cheers!
