1.
https://imageprinttoday.wordpress.com/2011/07/14/the-platen-gap/
^ useful guide i've found am gonna adjust my platen gap to WIDE. It's set to standard at the moment. The guide also mentions if it's set to standard it uses the parameters the print options you choose hen sending printjob to printer based on media type.
Unfortunately the Epson 9700 doesn't have a canvas media option like the other printers i've had before so I've just beeing setting paper type to Matt paper. Fingers crossed this will fix the gap.
Come to think of it If I remember right it started happening after I updated firmware.

 2.
Thanks Howard I will give the auto nozzle check a shot I always have this turned off. I will let you know how I get on with that today or tomorrow.
#David, I use canvas media normally and the ink's aren't genuine they are after market cartridges.
I've also come across a website that kind of mentions some problems I get:
------------------------------------------------------------------
Printer Adjustments for Thick Papers
Most printers have a software based control to move the print head up or down to adjust for paper thickness.
The ability to raise the print head comes in handy if you've seen these problems:

Pronounced lines in an image

Scuff marks

Ink splotches - particularily on the edges of paper

------------------------------------------------------------
Says paper thickness or PLATEN GAP to resolve the issue? I do get pronounced lines in the image and I do get the occasional ink drops at the end of the paper sometimes? Maybe that mite be the issue. Again I will test and let you know.

 3.
Hi Benoît,
Thanks for your reply. I'm definitely printing in max settings with Superweave turned on to fine.
I can only think its to do with the feed?
The Auto head alignment is what I worry about what paper do you run this on? I worry Matt plain paper will soak into the paper making the alignment less accurate. Just want to get anyone's opinion on this

 4.

I'm suffering from faded lines with my Epson pro 9700. I'm seeing lines but there's still colour in the lines. Nozzle check is perfect, no gaps. I did an automatic head alignment of all the options available in the menu. Still not an issue, By the way do you do this on plain paper or glossy paper?
It just seems recently not sure what's happened. I think it started when I did a clean & head alignment. Now I've did a wiper clean and capping station clean. If I've got a perfect nozzle-check does that mean its something to do with the feed?

Any help much appreciated.
