It doesn't take long to figure out that I am not a professional photographer. Nor do I aspire to be a professional photographer. In this age of "everyone has a digi-cam" what I try to do is catch my friends in the act of being themselves and having fun. I live in a small Florida town with a typical Southland active night life, so the subject matter is some of the best. So, I am greatful to the photographers of Photo.net for years of input and helping me to be better at what I try to do. In a sense, what I do is High Resolution cell-phone photography, and as some of my critics have said, "drunk frat-boy" pictures. Maybe, maybe not. But it IS what I do, and for the most part enjoyed by those whose photos I take. Afterward we turn the shots into slide shows to be shown at the individual saloons as an info-mercial and a "what you missed" exhibit. This is NOT a business, we do it for FUN. I am retired and have no desire to work. I do carry the business cards of several of the young professional photographers in the area to give out when I get requests to do portfolio work. One thing of note, the owners of the saloons(my word) were my golf buddies and I just had a concept of doing this style of photography. Most of the kids(anyone under the age of 40) I have known most of their lives. Also, they know my only rule. Never embarass anyone, just capture the FUN.
