BIOGRAPHY
I am a keen photographer who lives in Hemel Hempstead in the UK. I enjoy all types of picture taking situations. I particularly like landscape and nature, but also portraits if the subjects are willing I like to try new techniques and find that as with anything, the more effort I put in, the better the result usually. I use Nikon and Kodak SLR cameras and also enjoy using 1900's-1940's box cameras of different types. My favourie cameras are Nikon FM3a and Kodak Retina Reflex. I have started dabbling in the world of digital with a Nikon D50 and am finding it very interesting - and it compliments my film gear nicely. I find Photo.net a great place to hang out and there is always something new to read or see. Thank you for visiting my page. If you have time I always appreciate any comments on my images here.

We have stopped at the main intersection by the Cinema.

By the swimming pool 'Azure'. It is very interesting to drive in an empty city and explore.

Country cottages are lost under lush vegetation. Some homes are completely collapsed leaving only the fireplace.

Village in the Zone. Undergrowth maks imagining the layout of a village very difficult - you just have to explore until you find the next home.

The road to Pripyat. This scene is familiar to anyone who has visited the area - note the unusual lamp post bearing three lamps.

View across to the chernobyl reactor along the railway lines - one used and one not.

View across to the hotel Pollisya and the top floor viewing platform.

This school in Pripyat has suffered a collapse. I was in this part of the school in 2004 and in under a year it had fallen. The roofs of Pripyat's buildigs are concrete 'strips' sealed with tar. As the tar shrinks, water ingress occurs and the building's decay accelerates rapidly.

Pripat cafe - like most buildings in the Zone, it is starting to deteriorate as the weather takes it's toll.

Self-setting trees break up the concrete of the Pripyat cafe (near the pier)
