I started photographing as a high school student in the late 1960's using a 4x5 camera and black and white film. Back then I considered myself a landscape photographer. For many years career (as a chemistry professor) and family took precedence over "serious" photography. However, with children grown and a bit of spare time available, I bought a Nikon D70 the first day they were publicly available (more than a decade ago) and rekindled my interest in making photographs. I am now retired and making photographs almost daily. These days, I consider myself a landscape and wildlife photographer. However, I photograph many other subjects as well. My landscape work is still mainly in black and white. My main interests in wildlife are odonates (dragonflies and damselflies) and birds.
