BIOGRAPHY
I'm from Bermuda, it's a fantastic place- both to live and for photo opportunities. If you're interested, please check out my Bermuda Daily Photograph blog. I recently graduated with a Post-Graduate Diploma in Landscape Architecture from the Uni of Gloucestershire, in Cheltenham. Previously, I earned a degree in geography from UCL in London, UK. 2005/6 was a 'Gap year' for me between school and university. I spent over 6 months in Cusco, Peru, volunteering in a children's home and then 2 months in the Galapagos Islands working on conservation projects. Both were amazing experiences, although very different.
When I was about 14 my father let me play around with his old Pentax SLR - but I was so scared that any photo I took might be a waste and an indelible mark of my novice skills. I think that first 12 frame roll is still in the camera! (update: I found that I did get that film developed, and trust me, I made the right choice about going digital!) So my parents gave me a basic 2mp Olympus digital camera the next year which really let me loosen up and I have been clicking away ever since! I upgraded to the Nikon Coolpix 5700 which I loved and allowed my creativity to expand. Eventually it wore out and so I broke into the world of digital SLRs with a Canon XTi (400D)! Mostly I use a 70-300IS Canon telephoto lens, a wide angle 10-20mm Sigma lens and a Canon 100mm macro lens. I also have a rather mildewy Sigma 17-70mm which I haven't felt the need to replace yet.
