For Tony capturing the "perfect picture" if there is such a thing is not his intention. The objective of his work is to capture the moment in a world of moving images where one image provokes thought and encourages imagination.
Tony attempts to capture the pictures without censorship or resorting to formulae driven composites which he feels too many of todays photographers do in order to copy yesterdays masters.
His medium of choice is black and white negative film, developing the film and wet printing the negatives himself. He does however work in colour and with digital when the subject or conditions dictates.
Whenever possible he prefers to work traditionally utilising only natural light and pulling or pushing the film where required to shoot in available lighting conditions. However he considers the picture to be the essential point of photography and that the tools are no more than a means to acquiring the final picture.
