BIOGRAPHY
Photography to me is a way of relaxing and connecting to the realities of real life. To say it is merely a hobby would be an understatement. It is a huge part of my life. What I love most of all is street photography. Seeing the human element in its various environments is fascinating to me. Having said that, I will rarely make a picture of the homeless. The rare exception is if they request it, which does happen often, or I am using it for furthering the cause to help the homeless. Helping homeless folks is very near and dear to my heart. It something I have been doing consistently since October 2000. Often times I will carry bags of hygiene products. (Toothpaste and toothbrushes, hand sanitizer, cream, wipes, socks) Food in Los Angeles is easy to come by, so that I do not pass out. I also love urban street scenes. Shooting things like phone booths, cans, newsstands, alley ways, old buildings, anything found in the street. Basically urban life. I shoot mostly in my home town of L.A., but will travel to many different places for the sole reason of street shooting. My hope is that I can provide those who view my pictures a sense of being there with me in the scene. The majority of my pictures are up close and personal. The closer the better. As for equipment, this has changed too much over the years to list it all. Since I do get asked this allot, I will name currently what my favorite set ups are as of January 3, 2016. Film cameras: Pentax ME Super with the SMC 28F/2.8 and A Canon AE-1 with the Vivitar 28F/2.0 or FD 50F/1.8 Films: For color I love Kodak Portra 400 and Kodak UltraMax 400. For black and white, I love Ilford Delta 400 Ilford XP-2 and Kodak Tri X 400. Point and shoot: Canon G7X Markll I have owned many different point and shoots over the years, but this is my new favorite DSLR: Nikon D7100 with the Tokina 12-24F/4.0 or the Nikon 35F/1.8 Nikon D7200 with Tamron 17-50F/2.8 or the Sigma 30F/1.4 Art Nikon D750 with Nikon 50F/1.8 or Tokina 17-35F/4.0 Nikon D800E with Nikon 14-24F/2.8, or Nikon 24-70F/2.8 Nikon D500 With the Sigma ART 24F/1.4 or Sigma Art 30F/1.4 Pentax K50 or K20D with the 35F/2.4.
