My lifes biography is not relevant, as for photography:
Im a pet-lover, who started to photograph his pets with a small point and shoot digital camera. Back then I took most of my photos for documentary purpose, but I soon saw that my camera cant go deep into macro and decided to buy a better one in order to shoot more detailed macro photos of my pet spiders.
When Ive considered my options Ive decided to go all the way and buy a professional digital SLR camera so Id be able to change lenses, finally Ive bought my current camera, Nikon D100 with a single lens 28-105mm f/3.5-4.5D. This setup gave me very good results with minimum focusing distance of about 2cm (lens to subject), but then I got greedy when I tried to shoot an aphid with this setup and saw that it wasnt enough.
Since I had no education or experience in photography and I had no one to consult with, I turned to the internet and read as much as I could about photography and macro shooting. I soon learned about the existence of reversing rings and extension tubes but I didnt know which of them or what size I need, so Ive decided to buy them all and learn from my own experience.
From month to month my stock of equipment got bigger and bigger, and so did my interest in photography. I bought a whole bunch of other camera utilities and started to photograph not for the purpose of documentary but in the name of art (or at least in the name of making good photos). And as time passed by I even started to take photos of things other than animals.
The list of equipment I have today can be seen in my web site at http://www.giantmitzy.com/.
