I'm native to the Rocky Mountains of Utah. Began my photographic experience at the age of 10, carrying around the simplest of 'point and shoots' using the classic 110 film. In high school, I progressed to my first SLR, the Canon AE1 chrome body. I quickly made a name for myself with some natural ability and the patience of dedicated photography teacher named Bagley. Taking me on personally after school with him funding the Photo Clan, I progressed quickly and later became the president and head photographer. My senior year, more than 3/4 of my fellow graduates came to me for yearbook pictures, which was an incredible honor. After graduating, I continued my dreams in becoming the very best that I could be. I created an impressive portfolio that I submitted to the likes of Cosmo, Playboy, Vogue and Sports Illustrated. Out of those only one expressed interest. My biggest regret was never pursuing it. I joined the military having served in both the Air Force and now the Army. I've photographed combat, suffering and triumph all over the world. It's changed my outlook on life and everything around us through the lens. I've had my share of quality SLR's....but change is inevitable. I broke down and decided to try digital. In 2006, I won a contest while stationed at Ft. Eustis, Virginia, and walked out with a $1500 DSLR kit, complete with an Olympus E550, 28-50 mm and 70-300 mm lens, speed flash, tripod and bag. I couldn't get enough of it, but unfortunately my camera and gear was stolen while I was in Afghanistan for 15 months. Things have a way of working out though. For my 36th birthday, my incredible wife surprised me with a new camera and kit. I'm now enjoying the new Sony a200, two zoom lenses, speed/zoom flash, mono/tripod, backpack and filters. I can't put it away :) We'll see what it produces!
