BIOGRAPHY
I was born in Poland and received a doctoral degree in science there. Subsequently moved to USA.
My artistic skills developed slowly as a counter to “cold science”. I was always fascinated with visual art especially Impressionist paintings. My adventure with photography began late in life and developed from a hobby into a true passion and a way of living. I am a self-taught photographer. I learned the basics of photography by studying the work of master photographers such as:
Ansel Adams, Edward Weston, Paul Strand, Minor White, Wynn Bullock, Ruth Bernhard, Andre Kertesz, Josef Sudek, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Edouard Boubat, Jerry Uelsmann, Emmet Gowin, Michael Kenna, Intae Kim, Sally Mann, Keith Carter.
My favorite photographer is Paolo Roversi.
My main fascination is with people, portraits and fashion photography. I approach my subjects with respect and affection. I attempt to make close connection between myself and the subject and try to express that connection through the images. I use my subject’s creativity in most of my photos since I am only the observer and my subjects are true artists. I believe in painterly and less flashy approach in capturing their creativity.
