BIOGRAPHY

William has tertiary qualifications in Still Photography; Cinematography; Television and Radio Broadcast and has many years professional experience in those disciplines he also is professionally competent in Stage Lighting; Stage Management; Journalism and Technical Production. He has studied Business Theory and Practice and other subjects; he values education in all forms.

He sold his first Photograph in 1975, (a record jacket cover) and he started working as a wedding photographer whilst he was a college student in 1976 and a year later opened a photography studio with his business partner and that partnership subsequently built three studios which also comprised some commercial and location work. William has taught photographic theory and practice at colleges and also his business conducted instruction and master classes at the studios.

In 1994 William was recognised for his Thesis - Impact of Still Photography as used in Advertising – post WWII to Present Day. After moving on from his last studio he was employed by the new owner to refit it to a fully digital workflow in 2004/5. In some form photography has provided income since 1975.

William now works pro bono for various Sporting Clubs and some Organisations whilst maintaining a professional interest in: commissioned portraiture; photo-restoration; forensic analysis of digital images; and he also tutors students. He is a resident judge for some local societies and an invited judge for other competitions. William has been fortunate enough to have worked for some large telecast, broadcast and media organizations and has been involved in several big local and internationals gigs and along that path he has found a collegiate of like minded photographers and other technical and artistic people, whom he greatly values.

A special note concerning four people who have recently provided William assistance in bettering himself at The Craft - (specifically 2004 to present day in the the Canon Digital EOS era): *Neil Ambrose* for his gifted and most talented personal tutoring apropos Picture Stories; *Nadine Ohara* for her knowledge, vast experience and practical applications of Canon EOS Cameras & Speedlites apropos Event Photography and especially for her special personal friendship; *Colin Southern* for his seemingly endless knowledge of Digital Post Production Techniques and for the peace his landscape works provide; *Marc Williams* for his continuously beautiful and visionary conceptions of Wedding Photography and his excellent business mind.

William is a Director of a Company which is unrelated to his photography business. He resides in Australia and is married with two children and he enjoys in no particular priority: music, cooking, all sports, conversation and debate on all topics, wine and attempting to be a better pianist and also to spend more time riding his road bike.

William sincerely looks for effort in every endeavour to achieve a personal best moreover he greatly admires others who get back in to improve upon their own personal best.
